Hoorah! I just picked up my copy about 30 minutes ago and just got home. Amazingly, there was one store that opened an hour earlier than everyone else and was actually far easier for me to get to :D
I haven't played it yet but I'll let you all know how it is later :) |

I'm so jealous of you all! I want to play it now too.
Lolz, be sure to try out multiplayer, Saffy! |

I too just got back from picking mine up. :D My parents also argued for fifteen minutes in the store and walked out with an extra Wii and about four new games... >.>;

Uh, what, how do you accidentally buy another Wii and four new games? D: And why is that bad?
Well, I beat the first world and had gotten to the castle of world 2 but I got Game Over again. I have to admit that I like the Super Guide feature. I kept dying on the first castle a lot (falling into the lava while jumping) so it came in handy to just get past it and save my game. I probably would've stopped there if it weren't for that feature. Once I got to world 2 I ended up going back and beating that castle after a few more attempts, so it's not as though I'm cheating through the game. It's just a good tool to help avoid endless frustration leading you to giving up on the game altogether. The game is quite enjoyable though I do have a few issues with it, I guess. For one it took me a little while to get into the groove of the game, though I suppose that's my fault for not playing many platformers. That reason is why I actually wanted this game so badly: so I could get better. (I figure it would also help for Lindstrom and my game.) The controls seemed to take some getting used to, even though for the most part they're quite logical and the game does try to help you. Picking up Toad was weird because I didn't realize I had to hold 1, so instead I kept throwing him at enemies accidentally. I also dislike having to save only at the castles, though I realize that's how Super Mario World was, and truthfully it forces you to play longer. My issues deal mostly with my lack of skill and getting used to the game, otherwise it's fun. I definitely recommend trying the game. It certainly does remind me of Super Mario World. You know, I stopped for a minutes and already I want to go back and play it (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lalaexdee.gif) Also Earthbound too. I am definitely enjoying the game, though I wish I could play multiplayer with someone. |

I jumped right in with the controls. Plays exactly as I figured, and the quicksave seems like it'd fix the save and quit thing. I only got to play two levels before people asked me to do stuff, and now I get to wait for them to be done with the phone so they can tell me what that stuff was 'cause I wasn't paying any attention at all. =\

I just got to the third world with snow :D I think level 2-8 will be my save castle as it was pretty simple to do.
The Quick Save feature is really no different than continuing the game exactly where you were before. What I mean by that is if you quick save you'll only get to use it once and it will bring you back to where you were. It doesn't actually act as a proper save and more like a prolonged pause in my opinion. I was referring to losing progress you had made if you hadn't finished a castle. It's a little troublesome having to repeat levels a number of times because you die at the castle. Though overall it's not a huge issue. If I could find some proper infinite 1-up tricks I'd be set. |

Ah. Well... that's... -_-;; My mother's been complaining about wanting her own Wii ever since she bought Mario Kart Wii forever and a day ago. (My brother's usually very stingy on letting people touch his systems, so whenever she wanted to play, he'd shove her out of the room and tell her she couldn't.) And when I said I was going to Gamestop to pick this game up she (along with everyone else in my household) decided they wanted to come along as well. The second she walked in the store she started complaining about how she wanted her own "Wii Machine" and that it was only $199 dollars and that she had her own money to spend on it. My dad kept telling her no (and causing a scene) until he finally decided that if there were some games that he would enjoy on it that he might think about getting another. As it turns out, there were, and so we walked out (my brother and I highly embarrassed), with an extra Wii and four new games aside from the one I bought. My family is special. >.>;;
I haven't had as much time to play, so I've only gotten past the first fortress, which I almost got a game over on because this one part kept fricking squishing me! (Because my jumping is total fail. x.x) But I avoided that sad fate, fortunately, and am now on 1-4. |

I know that's all it does. I thought that was pretty much good enough to me.

To be fair, I guess it's not so much of a big deal now. I can easily beat 1-4 and save the game. I thought I had more difficulty with it previously, but it seems really simple now.
I've been going through trying to get more star coins. I doubt I'll get too many, but maybe I can at least get them all for World 1. |

So far I've noticed that the star coins are relatively easy to get. (At least in World 1 they are...) At the worst you've gotta be a little creative with your jumping method. Actually, in my first run through of 1-4 I got them all on the first try. (And then I did 1-5 and got a game over and only managed to get 1 on the second try. >:E) I have to say, even the difficult ones are fun to attempt to grab.

I want to know about the length of this game, how far are you guys in it and how many hours would you say it took you to get there?
Thanks! |

I'm on the third world right now. I've played maybe 4 to 6 hours, I'd say? But I did end up going back and collecting most of the Star Coins from world 1, so that's also taking into account collecting items as well. I'd say the game could be decently long unless you really fly through it, which I apparently don't.

I played for 4 hours today and got to world 4-1. Though iunno how much time I ended up chasing down Toads in World 1 because I didn't quite get that they'd just keep coming at first.

Hmm, okay. You guys seem to be going at the same pace.
So, I guess it will take like 10 hours to beat the main game? And like 20+ for 100% completion? Oh, Saffy, you get a star in your file by beating the game without using the Super Guide. So, just make sure to re-beat the stages you used the guide in! |

I've used the Super Guide twice and have gone back and redone those courses. One of them I managed to do straight through without losing any lives afterward. The other is just because sometimes I'll fall into the lava d: It's quite helpful to be able to move forward though.

Okay, good! Yeah, the Super Guide is good if you're having trouble. It's nice to hear it's quite challenging.
Oh and be ready for the awesome-cool reward at the end! 8D |

I just discovered how hilariously FUN multiplayer mode is. My brother and I could not stop laughing (and dying). It almost became a competition to see who could die more and get to the end of the level first... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lalaexdee.gif)

I just found out that my mom has $30 worth of giftcards for Best Buy, and she said she will never use them. After my orthodontist appointment she said she has to go to the same strip mall that our local Best Buy is in. I'm thinking I'm getting this today! ^_^

That's great, ZBoy! It looks like a really fun game. I was going to wait until Thursday to get it, but I have decided to get it tomorrow. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lalaexdee.gif)
