I love the idea of having artist spotlight.
Just a suggestion, why dont you start giving artist spotlight to the members who submitted their fanart to the gallery first, as a gratitude how they support the site? then once the good ones are done then start with other people. I bet the members would be grateful to see their art in the mainpage, and I must say, there are a lot of good fanart in ranchstory gallery. here are some more fanarts that I think they deserve more attention from public. 1 || 2 || 3 || 4 || 5 || 6 |

Yeah, we have a lot of good art here already. But I don't like the stupid watermark and I'm too lazy to go through them all to see if whoever posted a picture has a site or something where I could get the unwatermarked one to post. About watermark, I think most artist would have them in their art pieces, I believe so that they can promote their art and as well preventing stolen arts.
But if ranchstory would like the one without watermark then they could ask the artist directly. Moreover if they're a member of this forum, then it should be easy right? |

Yeah, I've seen some pretty decent cosplays on the ol' DeviantArt that I sorta kinda wondered if they properly counted as "art" in the traditional sense. If I bother to actually think about it (or someone else does and tells me their thoughts) I guess this month would be a good a time as ever.

Anyway, thinking about the costume thing, I'm thinking I'll just delay the artist spotlight from the 28th to the 31st and post one. I was hoping to be able to post one for each week leading up to it, but I looked and didn't really see a way I could do it since HM costumes aren't plentiful or variety filled enough to do it. =\ It'd be super if someone could find a particularly good one for the Halloween update though. Preferably one with a noticable Autumnal backdrop. |
