They the penguins used to fly, but when they flew dow to the poles and other ice areas they went into the water and adopted the act of swimming. Throughout time, as penguin generation kept coming and going, the older generations had died, meaning the new generations never even saw one of their own fly, meaning there could be no other penguin to teach them. I had to do a report on penguins in like 3rd grade. ;)
