Forgive me, but what would be the point? Ranch Story does just fine as it is. This place is busy as waffle for a fansite forum. Also, there are quite a few people here who either aren't old enough to have a facebook (unless they've changed their age policy since I joined in '05), don't want to give out their facebook, or just plain don't have one.

I know that I for one fall into the second category. >:/

Yeah, there is no age on fb as far as I can tell, but typically that's more for a real-life friend related connection thing. No offense to any of you but it would just be really awkward. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lalaexdee.gif)

Here on the forums, it's nice of us to be able to see one another as we would like to be seen. RanchStory is a place where you can forget about your problems and relax/enjoy yourself without having to worry about other people commenting on how you look. Plus, it would be kinda awkward knowing people better than you would have to, and I don't want to start calling people by their first names, but to keep calling them by their usernames. :)

I really don't see the point.

Plus, I gave up facebook years ago because I really don't even see the point in it. Become very boring when I can talk to people in real life if I want to.

Aaaand, why do we need just another outlet to talk to eachother when this is exactly what a forum is for. And like Zboy said, if we want to keep our private lives seperate then we should, Ranchstory is a place where we can be whoever we want to be.

I wish I could hold the same stance you do, Jason, but most unfortunately, the only way I can contact the grand majority of my friends is through facebook. We all live in different cities/states/countries now and giving them a phone call is beyond inconvenient. :/

Twitter is extremely evil though. I wish it an expedient death. D:<

YES! I feel the same way, haha. I would also like to eliminate MySpace.

Ever since I heard that story about two girls who fell in a storm drain and asked for help by using their cellphones to update the status on their facebook pages, I've been a bit disgusted by it and the obsession with it.

Those girls delayed their rescue by hours because they didn't actually call for help with their phones.

I really hope RS doesn't join this silly internet fad . . .

What!? Are you serious!? "Oh look, we're stuck in a storm drain! We need help! I know, let us go update our facebook and tell everyone, how cool!" (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lalaexdee.gif) So stupid. How old were these girls? 7?

Dead serious. I think the girls were twelve, but I'm not sure. Let me see if I can find out.

Edit: Ten and twelve.

How stupid can people be? Honestly, I can't even imagine someone not calling 911 or whatever directly! Instead they go online and update their facebook? I will never understand that.

It’s not the first time social media has been used in place of an emergency call: in Atlanta, Georgia in May 2009, a councilman was concerned that his cellphone battery would be flat by the time a 911 call connected. Instead, he Tweeted: “Need a paramedic on corner of John Wesley Dobbs and Jackson st. Woman on the ground unconscious. Pls ReTweet”.

That one is crazy too...^

He could have easily called 911 in the time it took to type and send that. Besides, there's a serious risk nobody would take a tweet like that seriously or even see it in time.

(I feel bad for the rejection...but sadly agree...)

Umm, I just don't think that RS is the type of place that is looking for something like that...>__<

But thank you for the suggestion, Halph time :)
