Wow...I really don't like those types of things. Like, remember those game sharks, or whatever they were called? I haaaaate those things. I dunno why; I just think they're stupid, and a way of cheating. I mean, I know it's not the same thing, because yours is just getting around stuff to play a game from Japan, but stuff like game shark drives me crazy. I hate it. Dx

Ohhhh, I disapprove of Gamesharks in eighteen thousand ways. Dx I play a game the way it's meant to be played. I don't even like resetting after doing something wrong (unless I triggered a Lost Forever sort of situation... where I kind of have to.). What's the point of playing a game if you just cheat to make it easier? xP I don't get it.
I don't even pirate games, though I know some people who do and attempt to justify doing so. I don't do it because paying for games makes sense to me; that's how the people who make the game make money, that's how the world goes 'round. So I suck it up and do it. Simple enough.
Region-locking doesn't make sense to me at all, though. By buying imported games, I am allowing Nintendo and Marvelous to make a profit. Why, then, does Nintendo wish to prevent me from doing so? And I don't feel the need to comply with a concept that's not only stupid, but easily circumvented.

More ranting wheeee~.
Stupid school, stupid duck. I could've rung the Blue Bell today. But now I have to go watch TV.

I also agree that region coding is teh gaey. I don't pirate games; I'm too afraid of infecting my system with something (it happened to a friend's Xbox, crashed the harddrive). I used gamesharks back in the day, but never EVER on the first go. Ruined the fun. I would always play through a game a couple times, then use gamesharks to make it more fun. Like on the old N64 Goldeneye game. You could put in a code to make all the bad guys have humongous heads, like bobble heads. Or have the characters talk in high-pitched squeaky voices. It was hilarious. I don't really consider it cheating, codes like that. Codes that unlock everything, or give you unlimited something... that seems wrong.

I was wondering if you have to ring a bell like in TOT or is it something different? Thanks in advance!!! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/cowhappy.gif)

Ring a bell?

Are you asking if you have to ring a bell like you do in ToT to get the animals to come in/out of the barn? If so, yes, you do. That's exactly like it was in ToT (except that the bell is nowhere near the barn for some reason).

^^^ Or I took as do you have to ring the bell at the beginning of the game like the clock tower? No, I don't think the quilt is included in this game.

The only bells in the game are the equivalent of rainbows in ToT. And the animal bell, of course. o_o When I think of bells, I think of AP, not ToT.

The animals don't stay in your field, either. You have to grow grass, and the animals just kind of wander. Although they don't "get loose" like in Magical Melody. They stay on your farm. So you have this big mounted bell you ring to take them inside or outside of the barn, and then you can buy this little hand bell to gather them all around you if they're all outside and in opposite corners of your property.

Well that . . . really bites. -_-

I bet you can't build a fence either. I don't want my animals all over the place - I'll end up watering them . . .

That's precisely why I don't let them out until AFTER I water the crops. XD Stupid cows always make a beeline for the space I'm about to water if I let them out prior to watering.

That's usually how I do it. Wake up, talk to spouse and kids (if applicable), talk to and feed animals, water crops, let animals outside, then go to town and do whatever.

In Tree of Tanquility I used to always water the crops first, but that was because the planting plot was right next to the house. I've seen some of the lay out for the farm in Animal Parade so I don't know what I'll do because the barn is closer than the field.

Speaking of the barn, is it true that in this game you have to grow grass for my animals to eat while they go outside?

Yeah, it is. No nice, premade grass field for you. And in my experience, they don't even eat from it half the time. x_o I'll leave my animals outside on a sunny day, they stay there through the night and the next day's sunny, and one of them will be sick. And I only have two cows. I find it's better to feed the animals, water plants, and let them out, in that order.

I'd rather water my plants first, simply because it'd probably be easier for me.

In ToT, my morning routine goes:

1. Let animals out.
2. Water and weed field.
3. Brush, milk, and talk to animals.

I can't do that in AP because I'll watering my animals and ticking them off. So I'll have to -

1. Water field.
2. Brush, feed, milk, and talk to animals.
3. Let animals out.

Maybe switch two and three, it depends.

If I may make a recommendation: Buy the preferred plot as soon as possible! It's 150,000G, but it more than doubles your land. Keep it filled with crops (easy to do after the first couple harvests) and you can easily make 200,000G+ a season. Just saying. I know people like to upgrade the house as soon as possible so as to have children right away, but think about how much more money you can make by buying the second plot instead! I did this in my second game and didn't put off upgrading the house by more than a season.

Thanks for the tip :)

I always find it difficult to decide what to buy first, so this should make things easier (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lalasmile.gif)

Does the grass grow in all four seasons? Will we ever have to replant it? Oh and can our animals still go outside in the winter? Because I do remember how in DS and MM how every Winter you needed to replant it because it died in the Winter.

Sorry for all the questions. I originally wanted to just ask the one, but then I kept thinking of another! :D

It grows all year long, and you don;t have to replant it UNLESS you sickle it twice. Cutting it once cuts the grass like usual, but cutting it a second time makes it disappear, like cutting a regular plant. I would recommend using the targeting button to make sure you always cut the grass correctly. On the plus side, it regrows every day and only takes 3 days to grow initially.

[Edit] er... is that Rune Factory? I forget now. I get my farming sims confused. maybe it's if you hoe it it goes away. Grr! Now I have to go check.

I have a question. Since the God/Goddes doesn't live with you, does that mean you can't go on a walk with them? If yes, then what else do miss out on?

I was also wondering exactly how the honeymoon scene works (for anybody).

-

If you can't walk with the God/Goddess, I think I'll skip out on scripting those fight scenes. Sorry, Zen! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lalaexdee.gif)

The grass doesn't die in winter, it just doesn't grow. Once spring comes around, the grass starts to grow again. It would be a big pain to re-plant grass every year, especially for people who have gigantic fields.
