Staying up until 9am watching Dexter and eating McDonald's at 5 in the morning is never a good idea ):

The time away was much needed though I'm not sure how I feel about being back yet. I've been really groggy all day so I'm sort of out of it after last night. It was nice to hang out with friends though, and it makes me feel better that I can just as easily go out another weekend to see them again. I'll see about making it a monthly occurrence.

On another note, the trip made me realize that I'm actually glad to be finished university. Being back was all hyped up in my mind -- and sure there's fun parts of it -- but I was really avoiding the other issues as well. I don't have life so bad as I might think lately. I simply wish I had my independence and a source of income. But yeah...

These days, not many people have the income to be able to completely earn their independence. Even when I was in California I was working all the time and didn't have much money left over to save. Lots of people I know are coming back from whatever city they moved away to, only to move in with their parents because there's just not enough money to be made. Half the time I'd say they just have awful spending habits, but in any case you shouldn't feel like some failure if you still need support to get by.
