I consider myself a gamer and all but I rarely play games nowadays. I used to play all the time back up until grade 10, then I'd maybe have one month of the year where I played solidly (e.g. a new GTA came out) and then I'd barely play for a year. Before Pokemon it was probably around Christmas where I had played Magical Melody for a week solid, but before that I can barely remember o.0 Most days I'll be lucky to pick up Pokemon for maybe ten minutes now. Who knows if I even play for an hour a week anymore D:
So is this just me, possibly losing touch with games? Or has anyone else been the same lately? |

Yea, I know what you mean. I always WANT TO play, but NEVER play. Now all I do is get exersise, watch t.v, go on cpu, and eat. (Besides school and sleep) So yea, I gotta get back in touch, I mean I'm still a kid.
UH OH! I"M GROWING UP! NOOOOOOOOOOOOO! |

Maybe you should skip the eating part and then you have more time on your hands. :P I spend more time talking about games then I do actually playing them. I haven't even got past threw the second gym in Pokemon diamond. (Mainly because that stupid gym leader has grass type Pokemon and the only Pokemon I have is Piplup) |

I play a lot, but lately I've started like I don't play that often. I used to play so much that my eyes would start to burn, but now I probably only play for a couple hours a day. When Tree of Peace comes out, I'll be playing longer. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lalasmile.gif)

Of the few waking hours I have at home, I use mostly to play guitar and read the news.
Gaming, especially modern gaming, requires a time-commitment. I love pick and play games, like Mario where a single level takes around a minute to play. Don't get me wrong, I do like adventure games too, but I find if I take too many days off, I can't just resume where I left off (eg. TP and Metroid Prime). |

Yeah, I sometimes play games and then forget about them for a few weeks, and when I come back to play them, I can't continue where I left off.

I don't always play. I have to be in a certain mood. It sounds extremely nerdy, but I play when I feel I'm fighting/working right next to the character. I play games when I'm in the mood, or it's brand new.

Since summer started I've been playing my GCube quite a bit more. :)
But yeah, overall I've been playing games less. :"( |

Not nearly as much, too. Too many games I need to finish, too many games I need to get, too little time, and not enough money.
I just beat Halo (again), but that's about it. Been playing more Warhammer. |

Like Chicken said, I tend to play the most when I buy a new game. But even lately that's not true anymore! I now only play when I have people over...

Under normal circumstances, I usually play a game at least once a day, sometimes more, usually more if the game is new or one of my older games has caught my attention again.
However, with the start of school, I do not have time to play games except on the weekends. Sigh... |

I used to play a lot more, but nowadays all I have time for is eating (on the go), school, homework, after school activities, homework, and sleeping...sometimes.

I'm currently out of school and trying to get myself a job, so . . . I play at least two hours a day. If I'm really bored, I'll play more. According to my Wii message board I play almost six hours the other day. 0_o
But, when I had a job, I only played on my days off. I don't think I had the time to play much otherwise, or I was too tired. -_- I'd come home, check messages online, read, and go to bed before I fell asleep on the couch. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lalatounge.gif) |

Well, out of the 120+ games I have, I've only beaten about 20 of them, so that shows how much I get to play. I want to play, I simply do not have the time. I've felt like you have, Saffy. That feeling that you may just be growing out of gaming. I thought so too, and got really depressed about it. But that's not the case at all. It's just harder for us. I think if I had a normal 9-5, making decent wages with normal days and times off, I'd be able to play so much more.
Granted, some people do grow out of games, but I don't think I ever will. I enjoy it too much. I told my one friend once, the day I grow out of games is the day I'm a very boring individual. Video games are my escape from the pressures of reality. A chance to live someone else's life for a moment. It keeps my imagination on par (because I feel like that is dying too) and helps my creative juices continue to flow. Gaming is a very big part of me, and if not for it, I don't feel I'd be myself anymore. -EDIT- I didn't answer the question. Haha. On average during school, I only play about 3-5 hours a week. When I just have work, I put in about 15-20 hours, maybe more. |
