Allow me to clarify a few issues.
Time Issues: The radio will not consistently run late as it has been. I do apologise for that, but this is why they are called 'test runs.' We're just trying to work out the kinks and such so that when the radio goes 'live,' you'll be able to listen with little to no problems. Again, I'm sorry it ran so late last night, but keep reading for more details on Test #2. Song requests: My music collection is infinite. If you request a song, and I don't have it, then I will make every attempt in my power to get it. Don't worry about what I have, or don't have. Make a safe assumption that I do have it. If the rare chance comes along that I cannot obtain it by ANY MEANS, then I'll think of something to make it up to you. Also, song requests can be done whenever you'd like, up until two hours before air time. Those two hours are the time I need to get everything set up and situated for your listening pleasure. Temporary Time Frames: I know the radio only playing for a few hours a day is a little irritating because of the fact that not everyone is around at the same times all the time. I want you to know that this time frame thing is temporary, and I've already started considering investing in a permanent server so the radio will run 24/7. Some people make graphics, others supply the site with game content. This will be my way of contributing to the Ranch Story community. The only thing I ask of you is patience. To run a radio 24/7, my computer must be running as well. I have anal parents who believe that their electric bill must be $4 a month. Because of that, I cannot run my computer that much. If you're patient with me, you will be rewarded. By that time, I can have my own place, a better computer (to allow for more connected users at a time, as well as better sound quality), and by that time, I will have run the radio enough to know what would be ideal for you all. So, while your feedback is always appreciated, please don't bash, or get upset. We're all working through the same issues, and I'm trying my very best to accommodate for everyone. Some people will have to make sacrifices sometimes until we get a stable server. I think those were the biggest issues thus far. Right now, I'm looking at 11PM to 12AM on Tuesday, September 1st, 2009. This is again, according to EST (-5), so you must calculate what that is in other timezones. Again, I'll take requests (bold them for me so I may find them easier, since we don't have a separate thread yet). If the requests don't fill up the hour time slot, I'll fill the rest in with some of my own music. This test run will consist of all regular music, no game music, unless you actually want it. Any questions or concerns, please PM me or notify me in this thread. If you're creative, I'm up for having 'commercials' or something similar in between songs. Ideas Some ideas that I was thinking about for the full radio are: 1) Having set days be some genre. Monday = Pop, Tuesday = Rock, etc. This would mean that when you tuned in that specific day, you'll know what to expect to hear, for one, and two, brings the repetitive factor to a minimum. If this is how we want to run things, we'll have to come to a general consensus on what days will cover what genres. Just a thought. 2)Live DJ - I picked up a mic, specifically for doing speech segments, but if I can figure out how to broadcast 'live' along with the music (causing for minimal interruptions as I try and set the next few songs up) I think it could be a lot of fun, both for me doing it, and you guys listening to it. I was also thinking of some way we can have a name and a motto for our station. For example: 92.9's motto used to be "soft rock, less talk, on 92.9" or something like that. So it would be cool to have something similar for RSR. -EDIT- For my own personal recollection, the password for the next radio is chebud_45 |

So a fulltime radio is potentially in the future? Goodie. I don't think you exactly specified how requests will be taken with all that though. If you wanted to try the live thing, I remember occasionally using mIRC to make the occasional request when tuned into Radio PSI.

Yes, potentially. But good things take time. So I'll need everyone's 100% support, or as much of it as I can get, anyways. Haha. Requests for now will simply be bolded requests in this forum, and eventually replies in a special "Music Request" thread. The reason I give the cutoff time is because I'll need to read the thread to actually know the music is being requested. I have considered mIRC or some variable and that is an option, but we'll cross that road when we get there. For now, we'll use these forums for requests. If anything changes, I think I've been pretty avid with keeping up to date on those changes within the forums. :)

I didn't mean to sound upset, or annoy you. :P
I think this is so awesome, that I'll even give you an extremely fitting song for you to consider playing : Harvest Moon by Neil Young While it has nothing to do with farming, it's still a really great song. :) Good luck! |

You didn't upset me or annoy me at all. It was a running issue, and I felt it needed clarified. Again, I support any and all feedback and criticism, so long as it's constructive.
Oh goodness. Neil Young. e.e raff. My one buddy LOVES Neil, so I've had my fair share of him for good. But, you have been added. Thank you for your request. |

Actually he is correct, seeing as today is August 31st, a Monday, and tomorrow is September 1st, a Tuesday.
Sounds quite intriguing, however I wasn't able to get it to work on my computer. Perhaps because I have a mac? |

Arilla - I'm not really familiar about the workings of a Mac. I plan on getting one, but I just don't have the funds atm. I know that you can listen via WinAmp, the internet browser, and windows media player. I have a feeling the last option isn't for you. I'm not sure if Winamp is Mac compatible or not, but if not we can try the browser option for you (I'll explain how to do all three tomorrow). If no options work, I'll be extremely sad, but I'll keep working on a solution for you. Okay? :)
Darth: Hahaha. Got your request down. :) |

As for live voice snips in DJing, do you think opening up a chat on Skype or some sort of thing could basically perform the same basic task? It's a fairly nice system and pretty simple, but not sure if it would like, work the same way as your music player does. Not completely tech savvy and such. I just know that if I have it open and I talk at my computer people talk back without the horrid phone bills. :D
Kind of like playing Pokémon, going into the Wi-fi chat and using hours of free long-distance "calling". It's ingenius. :B Anyways; Amarillo Sky -- Jason Aldean. It so reminds me of HM. <3 And for country haters--go fall in a hole. Ilu. :] |

Songs that remind us of Harvest Moon?
George Strait - Heartland Seriously that song would always come on whenever I was playing Save the Homeland. It felt so fitting. I miss it (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lalasad.gif) |

If there is even one Lady Gaga song, my computer might explode happylu. ... But I guess it'll have to do. Preference?
As for the others, I've taken down your requests. Thank you all. Katie: I never really knew what skype was, I thought you had to pay for it. PM me and give me more details. I'm open to anything. |

I'm having some issues with my voice recording deal. It's coming out too soft. I don't know if it's Microsoft's crap toosh program, or if it's my headset. Any hasty solutions would be greatly appreciated.
-Edit- Gotcha down, Miitan. :) |
