A few days late, but I thought I'd point out that Massachusetts senator Ted Kennedy died on Tuesday from brain cancer. He was, as they go, a neat politician and he did a lot of good.

Aw, that's so sad. My dad and I were just talking about the Kennedy's - we were saying the family was cursed. >_>

I'm surprised this thread was even made, and that anybody here knew who he was (he's JFK's little brother).

Anyway he lived 20 minutes away from me and I've met him a couple times, when he was healthier you could sometimes find him sailing around. Wicked nice guy, he'd remember anyone and everyone, and he literally worked to the death fighting for what he believed in, which most of all was universal health care. My only guff with him was how he didn't want turbines installed in Nantucket Sound.

Also like two weeks ago his sister died. She was the woman who set up the Special Olympics.

Though I'm not surprised at the turn-out.

I don't really have much to say on the subject, except that he seemed like a real groovy dude. I'm among the people who gets most of their knowledge of these people from the late night talkshow circuit though, so I think most things I can say are null.

My substitute Chem teacher says he came from the same hometown that the girl he half-killed was from. Y'know, the thing off of Martha's Vineyard where he was driving drunk with her in the car, went into the water, managed to escape himself but didn't help her? Yeah.

That's basically all I know of the guy, except that he was my Dad's age. Nyeh. Not a political fan.
