I've been playing for awhile, but the one thing I haven't tried yet is starting a new game. My big question is... does your money transfer over?
In ToT I used a cheat method to get about 3 million G, then started a new game and didn't have to do much of anything but make people love me.

Just wondering. If not, it might make it a little harder, but more fun.

I'm almost certain money doesn't carry over in a new game+.
But with all the tool skill and stamina you get, it can't be hard to get really rich really quickly.

In ToT, I didn't even cheat to get my money and I already had way more than I knew what to do with in my new game. o_o

^ Ooooo That is what she was asking???

No, you apparently get your gift which you sent wich your child, a couple of godess level tools and a full stamina bar like Marley said.

But ask Nurse Fin, She should know better than any of us. But I don't want to ever start New game Plus! I love my farm too much... Plus I always give up playing as a girl because for some reason it bugs me, but replaying as a boy is boring... GAH!

Ah, by cheating I meant I was a flax farmer.

I planted nothing but blue herbs in the (summer??) and had several hundred. Then the next season I planted nothing but flax and had several hundred. I then spent several real-time hours making blue flax yarn, which gave me hundreds of thousands of gold.

Then the next spring I bought about 4 hundred blue herbs at the flower festival. Than at the animal festival I bought about 4 hundred silk yarn (I was broke), but since they sell for, like, 2000G or something (I think??) I ended up with about a million G.

Then I did it the next year as well, except tripled the amount I bought, and in the end had about 3 or 4 million G. Then I started a new game and all the money transferred. I don't think I did a single lick of farm work in that game.

That's also how I got Gill to marry me in the second week, because of a real cheat. I gave him something like 360 things that he hated, then 100 things that he loved all on the same day and got him to 10 hearts in one day.

It's a bummer that in EAM you can only give 1 gift per day, even if it's something they only like.

You COULD save your game in two files. Just, save it once under the first file, then when it's done, save it again under the second file. Do what you have to do for the New Game+, and then when you need to save, just save over one of the original farms. If you understand that, I guess. It's what I plan on doing when I get the rusack in ToT.

Everything was so cheap in ToT, though, and I didn't really see the need to go and get tons and tons of cash. In fact, for the past year or so in my original file, I haven't done anything. Not even animals (I got sick of taking care of them, frankly. Too much real time I could be using to spend in-game time.). I just got everyone to like me. :3

I debated exploiting that particular aspect of gift-giving to get Gill to marry me in my New Game+, but I wanted to get the heart events one by one and make it work all nicely. Ended up getting married before Fall started, though. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lalaexdee.gif) Yay, part-time jobs!
How does that work, though, does he show up at your door one day, then later that day ask you out to lunch and to find his diary, and then he gives you the second gift and the confession the next?

When I started a New Game+ in ToT, I got all the ingredients for the rucksack, then saved in two files. On one, I went through all the New Game+ business (which is adorable in ToT, and I hope AP's scenes are just as good. Freaked out when my kid disappeared, though, for a minute I thought my game glitched out and killed my daughter. D: Silly me.), and on the other I didn't even bother to make the rucksack. All worked out fine.

Understand that by the time I used the cheat to marry Gill in the second week, I had played through the game about 7 times. I had played about 4 as a girl and 3 as a boy. What I was trying to do is see if I could have an adult child before finishing the storyline. I really did take my time on it, too. I just completed the rainbow recipes as I got the ingredients, and didn't go out of my way very hard to get them as quickly as possible. And my conclusion is that no, you cannot have a full grown child before you complete the story mode, unless you ignore the story mode completely.

That's one thing I absolutely love about EAM. The time it took to have a child and have it grow up is absolutely ridiculous in ToT. I was on the third year after getting married in the second week of the game!!! They cut the time in half in EAM. The child grows every 2 weeks instead of every month.

And here's another trick to raising your spouse's heart level quicker. If you invite them on a walk, then continually walk around, they gain affection every hour. They don't gain affection if you stand there, you have to be moving. If you go out in the morning and run in circles all day until nightfall, then you can just about get a heart in a day. Although my brother asked if it would work to find a stick point (like on someone's porch, where you run but don't go anywhere) and rubber band the joy stick. Then you could have your character running in place and still gain affection. You could go do something else and powergrind your spouse's affection level, lol.

I haven't tried it yet, but I plan to.

People keep saying that, but that's not really true. I had my kid first, and she was full grown by the time I got done with the storyline.

Well, you can't if you complete the storyline as quickly as possible. I had it done by Winter 3, and unless you get married on your second day in town, you can't even have a child by then.
If you got married in the second week of Spring, though, it should've been possible to get your child fully-grown before the third year. It takes seven seasons from the day of your wedding (which is ridiculous, I agree!), so by Winter 14, it should've been fully-grown.

Too bad it's not possible to marry that early in EAM, or it'd be entirely possible to have your second child born by the end of the first year! You can have children as soon as you get your spouse's affection up to 14, right? Doesn't it jump to 13 when you get married? 'Cause that'll be easy.
I like that they cut the child-growing time in half; I was pretty much sick of my first file by the time my daughter grew up (It was worth the wait, though, she's so funny.)

I don't get why people just rush through the game. I like taking my time and enjoying what others have to say and do. Urg. That just reminded me that I'm still trying to get a pet in ToT, and I've lived on that island 5 years! Dx

With ToT, I just wanted to get through the storyline so I wouldn't have to worry about it. And after that, I got to the farming and the flirting that I enjoy so much in Harvest Moon games. Whatever happened to the "You inherited the farm, use it for three years and then we'll see how you're doing" plot of the old days?

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/lalaexdee.gif) Actually, on my first ToT file, my Wii decided it would break when I was two days away from finishing the storyline. I was angry. I was enraged. I had HAD IT! >> Had to sent the Wii to California to get it fixed. Luckily, they were very quick about it (they received it and shipped it back on the same day!) and when we bought it on the launch date, it didn't get registered in the system or whatever, so the one-year warranty hadn't started and it was free.
Still had to wait a week before I could actually finish it.

I gave up on pets in ToT. I pet the cat every day for a year and he still didn't have one heart. x_o Too much trouble.

^ I took walks with my spouce every day too! I just had her follow me arround from the day after we were married till I got to 20 hearts, and even if you had 9 or 10 hearts, after the wedding you always are on 13 hearts, so its really easy to get pregnant... I got asked 7 days after the wedding.

I found something out!!! Have you seen Nurse Fins video of her first tour? She complains about the lack of storage space. Well... I am changing my house from Casual to Gorgeous so I decided to buy new furniture to go with it, including new cabinate. I only had enough for a 10 spaced one, so I just decided to throw some things away, when I discoverd with the adition of 10 spaces onto my 15 spaced cabinate. I tried it again with a new fridge and it worked again! Sorry if this has already been discoverd but I'm exited!

I played my file for four or five years - I had the brown weasel, the boar, the 'raccoon', and was just a couple of hearts short of getting the bear. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lalasmile.gif) It's not that bad once you know what to give them, each animal only took about a year or a few months if I was aggressive about it.

Fortunately, it's apparently much easier in Animal Parade.

And if you give your kid the good corn meal, you could've even finished the main storyline only in one season (spring 1st year) with new game plus, which I doubt can be done in ToT or any hm game ever ;)
That's kinda neat for those who want to get access for God/Goddess faster

I bought Large Normal Cabinet, but then I changed my layout and thought a cute medium one will fit better in my house, so I bought a new shelf
I've expected that the only change will be the color and looks, but then I got an additional spaces in my shelf, even though I bought a medium one while already got a big one before

So now, after I have too much money to waste already, I bought all things including all furnitures and find myself with a surprising big amount of empty spaces for both shelf and refrigerator, it just looks like almost unlimited space to store your stuff

It's pretty neat that more furnitures will really give more spaces, and no need to save money to get a large shelf/refrigerator, since even the small one will contribute to the points

^Hey, that's pretty sweet! :] Which is good, because I tend to put storybook recipes in the toolbox/cabinet. I dunno if I'll have to do anything like that in EAM, but still.

Oh wow, that is neat. o_o Incredible amounts of storage space!
Which is great, because I find I always need more storage space, even when things stack (when they didn't, like in 64 and other games from days of yore, then it was just nigh-impossible to give anyone gifts that were out of season.).

But wouldn't it be difficult to get ten people up to three hearts in one season? If you don't have a P2 remote to rub the characters, anyway... which I don't... I don't know where my other Wiimote went, really. o__o;;
I could do it in ToT, but without the added points from part-time jobs and the one-gift-a-day rule with people whose loved gifts are difficult to access, I don't know.

I'm literally HOLDING MY BREATH waiting for this game to be released. Quick question, once your married and you go to the festivals with your spouse, is it like ToT, where it's EXACTLY THE SAME or do they change up the dialogue to fit with your relationship? Cause for example I'd go to the fireworks festival with Gill after we were married and he'd be like this was fun we should do it again sometime, and then he'd just leave. Um, hello? We're married. Always thought it was weird and kinda awkward.

Hmm, then if we depend with the best gift (9-10 points), it should be around 30 days to get one char to 3 hearts, instead of 15 days with 2p rub
That way, you still be able to get the God/Goddess in the early Summer, just call them directly after you've finished with purple bell, since you've got the hero rank already from spring's result

It'll be a totally different dialogs for the festivals after your child has grown up
But if you have no children yet, their main events dialog and greet will still remains same, but the last part will be different and a bit more intimate
