I guess I just don't compare movies. If you want to watch the first one, then watch the first one. Why make a second movie that is exactly the same as the first?

Yes, I did read the original book, but I still think the first one is way better. And when you remake a movie, it's obviously going to be compared to the original, it has to be.
And yes, I do like CG but he didn't do it in a nice way. And I do like Tim Burton, one of my all time favourite movies is Big Fish but I just don't think he did a good job on that. |

I can't wait for this movie, personally. The only other version I've seen is Disney's animated movie - I don't think I'll be comparing Disney and Tim Burton that much. o_o
Plus, I like both Johnny Depp and Anne Hathaway. Though I'm not a big fan of 3D . . . it's really awesome, yeah . . . but it's becoming a fad. >_> I've been intending to read the book, but knowing it's going to be a movie . . . I think I'll try to hold out until after a see the movie. Especially since there have only been two movies I've seen that were better than the books - Lord of the Rings and Coraline. |

When I was little I always thought Alice in Wonderland was kinda creepy.
Now that I'm older... I still think so. *shudder* |

Yeah it still creeps me out too, but it's still one of my favorites. I'm looking forward to seeing Tim Burton's version when it comes out!

This should be… interesting.
Only Burton I believe can bring out the creepiness that was Alice (book, of course). I recently read both Alice's Adventures in Wonderland & Through The Looking Glass and realized what a sheet the Disney version was compared to them. I mean, I hate how movies mix the progression of a book up so much. Plus, it was just so much happier and whatever. However, the Hallmark version of Alice In Wonderland that I have on VC is pretty killer in my opinion. I mean, it incorporates more of the rhymes and songs that Disney left out, including the Lobster Quadrille. Even if Alice wasn't blonde and some of the characters called animals in the book were humans, I overall appreciated its creepiness and closeness to the events of the books, even if they still left out portions. Though, Whoopi Goldberg's face as the Cheshire Cat was a bit… off. Buuut besides the point. I adore most of the Depp/Burton movies (Sleepy Hollow, Edward Scissorhands, Sweeny Todd, etc.) and expect this to be a smash, even if Anne Hathaway is a lame (in my opinion) and doesn't look anything like the White Queen should. Come on, she was an old lady for goodness sake that couldn't keep her shawl on. And if there's a white queen, there has to be a red queen, too, right? D: And I'm not talking Queen of Hearts. Completely different person. |

Lool. It looks really lame. I might watch it just because it looks ridiculous.
I did enjoy Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and Corpse Bride. |

I enjoy the gap in his teeth. It makes him more whimsical in a creepy kind of way. They eyebrows look insane, though. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lalaexdee.gif)

I would think so, because the Mad Hatter almost always appears with huge eyebrows.

That picture looks pretty awesome. :D
In a madman-type of way. Or in a... "Holy cow you need to shave your eyebrows man!"-way. :3 |

Yes he does :D I loved Sweeney Todd but my favorite Tim Burton movie is a tie between Nightmare Before Christmas and Edward Scissorhands.

Are you sure this is alice in wonderland or is it the looking glass because that book is a spin off of alice in wonderland but has a completly different plot.

Well, judging by the fact that Tweedledee & dum and the White Queen are from BTLG and the Mad Hatter and Queen of Hearts are from AAIW, it's most likely a combination of the two, just as all Alice In Wonderland movies are.

Yeah its is a combination of the two, unlike the Disney one I think it will follow the looking glasses story a bit closer. I know they mixed the Queen of hearts and the red queen or something to form Helena's character.

Why does everything that Tim Burton makes have to be dark and boring?

The most of us indeed know the disney version more than the book or the actual story or the stories around it (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lalatounge.gif) .
All in all Alice in Wonderland has always been a controversial book. I remember a quote from Tolkien saying that it was really well written but quite twisted (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lalaeyes.gif) Perfect for Tim Burton if I may say so ^-^ I'm really looking forward to a totally messed up movie Why does everything that Tim Burton makes have to be dark and boring? Well I certainly believe there are people who find his movies boring but that's because he has a whole different pace than the majority of todays producers. I kinda like that because it gives you the feeling that after every action is a meaning not like modern horror or blockbuster movies where everything is just done before only now they decided to speed it up. |

Tim Burton will most definitley add a new and refreshing twist to the classic story we know. Though, some of the pictures scare me, ecspecially the Mad Hatter one, and the Tweedles aswell. owo;
