As a means of getting into computer games I've been debating on my picking up The Sims 3 for the past little while. I loved the SimCity series but I've never actually played any of The Sims games. Still, I think they would be up my alley if I just gave them a chance :P

Is anyone playing The Sims 3 at all? Mind giving me some reasons to purchase it? :] I saw someone play it once and was really interested. But what's new and exciting this time around?

I actually grabbed it yesterday thanks to the pretty flashdrive, but I didn't get to mess with it aside from setting a fire before the computer was taken from me by a friend who played until I went to sleep. =\

I've been playing it non-stop, but I've loved all of the Sims games so I don't know, I might just be biased? I have a great time playing it (and it actually runs smoothly on my laptop which surprised me a lot). I would understand if someone didn't like it but I think it's great.

Well, that's kind of enough for me :D I guess I could really get into it. I know a lot of people seem to enjoy it and it certainly did interest me. So I think I shall go take a look for this game :0

I like it, but it won't run smoothly. It's way too slow. Anybody got any suggestions?

Turn down the in-game resolution? I have it, its a lot of fun, however it only works well on the communal computer (their hair won't show up on my laptop, everyone looks like recovering cancer patients. D:) and so my time on it is quite limited.
Anyways, its a lot of fun, almost my entire family enjoys it, ages ranging from 15 to 40-something.

I've played The Sims 2 and The Sims 3. I didn't like either of them. But thats just because it feels like work to me. =/ I hate having to always feed them, or make them take a shower or something. Sure, its addicting the first couple hours, but then it gets boring. I also don't cheat so maybe thats why I don't like it. Because my sister cheats a lot and has a ton of fun doing crazy stuff. So I guess cheating is a big part of the game?

I am a big time sim fan and I preordered it and everything when sims 3 came out (im a nerd I know (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lalaexdee.gif) ) It has to be just about the BEST sims yet. If you like customizing your characters to look like just about anything, then this is the game for you. One of my favorite things about Sims 3 is the fact that you can make your person ANYTHING! You can completely customize what your clothes, face, and hair. Also you can customize your inner self as well. You can also make your person anything you want personality wise. Kleptomaniac, Friendly, Hopeless Romantic, Neat, Slob, Couch Potato, name anything! Want a robber, chef, rock star, astronaut, or just a stay at family person, your wish is your command.

1 absolutely important thing is that you have to make sure your computer can handle the game. Some people are saying its slow or doesn't work at all on their computer. The same thing happened to me when I first tried it on my computer... But I got a special computer just for it from my savings. :P (nerd sry) umm so yeah if the requirements work well for the computer then you should totally get it. Its the best Sims yet and worth every penny!

I have a pretty awesome gaming laptop. I'm really not expecting it to be a problem playing it :P

I did end up buying the game nonetheless. I was bored and had nothing else to do. The game is still in the plastic wrap at the moment as I'm somewhat undecided on whether or not I'll actually play. I was awaiting some good news before breaking the plastic wrap and voiding any return policies.

From what everyone's saying I am looking forward to it :] I think I could get pretty addicted to the game.

Why is The Sims 2 better? I've only seen bits and pieces of any of the games =\

I'm still undecided whether or not I'll play it now. I do want to but at the same time, eh D: I have my doubts a bit.

Saffy, you are so picky with games. If you bought it, play it. Review it yourself.

If I open it I lose the chance of possibly returning it. I was sort of debating before buying it whether or not I wanted it. At the moment I can still get my money back. It's different than me simply not wanting to play it.

I'm planning to give it a shot tonight, or possibly after I play GTA4 some more. I really got into that game lately again :p

Ooh I love The Sims 3(Even though the graphics aren't that good on my laptop, but I'm not complaining :D)! I've kinda slacked off playing because I've been so focused on RFF lately.

RFF's another game I really want to get back into. I only stopped due to lack of time. But it was just such an awesome game :D But hey, I guess I'm working back into a sort of video game groove which is pretty nice.

Any cool parts of The Sims 3 I might not know about? I was looking at screenshots and reading up on it. I think I could have a lot of fun with the game :]

sims 3 is hella dank.
omg im doing this one challenge with my fran ally called the 'family man challenge' where you create a single guy and you hook up with every girl in the town -that you DID NOT create- and have as many babies as you can
she has like 30 kids. I have like 12. >_>. I dont play that much.

but yes, sims 3=hella dank. especially if one day you come home like HOLY MOTHER COW CAT, I FREAKEN HATE [insert name here] IM GOING TO MAKE A SIM OF THEM AND TRAP THEM INSIDE A HOUSE AND BURN IT. ive never had something like that happen to me but hey, you never know.

I bought it cause ally wouldnt stop talking about it and made it sound cool. >__>
and it is pretty cool.
dispite her making me want to buy 193240323 video games and spend rediculous amounts of money, I love her.
its fun to go into hot topic with our emo buddies and rofl at the twilight and harry potter things.
we were debating on wether we should buy the edward glitter for her little brother richie.
haha.

Having actually been able to play it a fair bit now, messing with the Sims is fun, and it's pretty entertaining to attempt to recreate people, but the most fun I've had so far is probably just messing around with house construction. Here's a familiar one:

(IMG:http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g281/worthlessnewbie/Harvest%20Moon/Screenshot-4.jpg)

My only major problem was that I didn't remember how the bathroom looked at all and didn't feel like looking around for pictures. That'll probably be something I should get soon when I play '64 again...
