I prefer that too. Constantly seeing your friends in class, then hanging out afterwards :] Even living with four of my friends too with a bunch of people coming over all the time as well. It's so weird once school ends and all contact sort of disappears. Is it a matter of growing up and needing a new chapter in your life? But then, we'll try to get new friends at work and carry it on. Eh. I think I need to focus on moving forward instead of lingering in the past of university.

The plan I'm getting is the basic one for the type of cellphone I have. Unfortunately it is a big pricey, and I'm not even sure how much it'll actually end up costing me personally. For the time being until I get my own job my cellphone is still under my mom's current plan, but I'm free to break out of it at any point. All I know is that it costs $23 more than her previous plan with this one. But the lady was saying I might be paying up to $80 once I'm on my own plan. Does that sound about right for a smartphone? o.0 Unfortunately they're the only carrier of the HTC Magic in Canada so it was either that or purchase some really crappy phone I'd never be happy with. I guess it'll all work out if I actually do get a stable job in the months to come :] To me it's a matter of replacing the old with the new and getting into a new chapter of life. Though admittedly I don't like the thought of bills piling up :(

$80 a month? Sounds like you're getting some kind of data plan with like, the minimum amount of minutes. The most basic plans I see around here are like $40 a month. The best option is always to make things into a family plan when possible. Of course, you should only do that with your actual family since your friends could be anywhere between now and 2 years from now. If I were you, I'd go talk to your mom and see if you can extend that plan (and keep your number), and merely switch over to the new phone. Won't be a problem if they're the same carrier. Just pay your mom your share. Only issue would be if you want to add in some kind of data (internet) or unlimited text plan, but after having tried both, I'd say the internet is a novelty and unlimited texting usually requires you make about 200 texts a month (I still having unlimited texting due to every female I know preferring texts over calls).

I don't think it's so much as outgrowing old friends as it is moving on to somewhere else. Jobs and school do that. Before high school was over, I refused to accept the idea of just ditching my friends behind. Of course, they all went to college anyway, and I went to California. Whenever I manage to see one of my friends from high school, I always hang out with them, and nothing can change the fact that they're my friends. But I can't really do anything about the fact that they have to be somewhere the next morning and do stuff with other people. I think this is part of what kills a lot of people's ambition once they finish school. You have to find a solution to it on your own based on what works for you, though. No response I can give you can lead you where you want to be, but remember to have faith in your friends.

I'm on a family plan at the moment, where my mom is paying for it and I'll pay her the additional $23 per month to make the difference. The plan I'll be on, which I assume I can choose when I switch, does have all the internet functions and unlimited texting. My only issue with texting is that I text long-distance for the most part. I don't usually text people if they're in the area, because I can easily call them. So while I'm getting unlimited texting it appears, it's kind of useless to me as I'm still getting dinged for every text that isn't local. But yeah, I'll figure that all out once I actually do switch. It's possible I misunderstood as $80 /month does sound kind of pricey =\

Well, yeah, I'm not outgrowing the per se. They'll always be my friends, but it is just moving on somewhere else. It'll no longer be the same as easily seeing them everyday. Whenever I want to hang out it'll have to be a planned trip, and not something spontaneous. We'll all have things to do, and it won't last so long. But they are still my friends. Perhaps I should stop focusing so much on it all, and just accept what comes. I dwell too much on the current situation yet do nothing at all.

Ah well, sorry to rant :P

Why did you move to California?

Dammit. Who do I kill? The stupid posting system told me I had too many pictures, and while doing it, just got rid of all that I had typed since the last post. And I don't, you know, have a savestate then. Hope this debug room thing works out right...

Individual plans range from like, $40 (500 minutes, nothing else) to $120 (unlimited everything). Do texts in Canada count as long distance if it's going to another province? In the US you only get charged more if it's international. For internet functions, keep in mind you're basically doing anything you do in a web browser (specifically email) through your phone. I had my phone set for about a month to alert me when I got emails, which ruled, but then when the bill came, I had to ditch the internet. It adds up quick and you really won't need it for anything special. Even people I know with iPhones don't use all the special internet features (unless they're on an unlimited plan) because you can't really do anything worth the cost. Anyway make sure you read the contract before you sign; it's a bitch to change the details after and you can't duck out unless you wanna spend the $250 or so cancellation charge.

Ranting is good. Honestly, I wish more people ranted about how they were feeling. It's cathartic, I think, and I enjoy seeing people express themselves.

Mostly, Cape Cod isn't a good place to live, or at least if you're young. There's little for employment opportunities and less to do for fun. I left because I was tired of the place, and my home, and my best friend was moving out there so I tagged along (after saving up $4,000). I'm always up for traveling, anyway. I returned a while ago cuz my dad had surgery on his leg and has since had a hard time walking and doesn't have a valid driver's license anymore. So while I've been taking care of him and being essentially in charge of the house (despite my mom and two brothers living here as well). I work, fix, clean, cook, and go to school. The only thing keeping me here is the fact that I don't have anything or anyone to leave for. At least not right now.

I blame Jason! Cuz he's a total jerkface. You should march right up to his office and demand a raise. And then punch him, and tell him it was for his own good.

As far as I'm aware texts are allowed between provinces in Canada. I'm honestly not sure though o.0 My mom's only ever complained when I've texted people in the States, so I assume it's because out of province is charged as normal. I reckon that would make sense. Was it really that bad just using e-mail? Now you've got me worried. I was planning to use it for e-mail, my calendar, GPS, and other things like that. I have a monthly limit of 500mb bandwidth which I assume would be sufficient. Did you actually have a data plan with your phone though? I suppose worst case scenario I could always take it off, but that could make having a smartphone sort of silly. Well, I hope it won't be as bad as you say :( I do know Rogers likes to gouge everyone though.

Why did your friend move? That must've been a pretty exciting switch though. I take it this was after you finished school? I often wonder what it would be like to just pick up and move to another province sometimes. I've wanted to go to British Columbia for years =\

I don't remember cuz it was a while ago and very brief, but I don't think I had a data plan, nor do I remember how much it cost me to be using it so much. After I realized how much it cost, I also remembered that really, how many things do I need? I mean, I could've paid for the GPS and other features too, but I really just need a phone and I'll take the bonus features like the camera and micro SD slot (an awesome combination, I do declare). Ask yourself, are you so attached to being technologically "connected" that you need to have all those features? If you don't mind paying for them, then go for it.

He had wanted to move out for years, having gone to college out there for acting. He felt he never got a good enough chance to go and audition and everything, which is true because problems constantly arise for him (only reason he was on Cape Cod was because his mother, sister, and brother all got cancer from their hometown's drinking water). He's sort of a bigger brother to me, and I felt I should see how capable I really am. He also started dating a close friend of mine before we left and she moved out with us, but she got really homesick and unmotivated to do anything so they had some problems. But they're together in New York now so things are ok. And yeah, this was pretty much right after high school ended.

Yeah, it was a sweet ass game show on Nickelodeon called "Legends of the Hidden Temple" where contestants would learn about some cheesy ancient story (a new one each week) and how there was a sacred treasure from it that wound up in the same Hidden Temple as everything else seems to. It was mostly those cool physical challenges but there was a trivia round, too. At the end, the team with the most points or whatever got to explore the totally awesome Temple and try to find the item, while dodging temple guards, solving puzzles, and beating the time limit.

Elevators are easy to get out of when they're stuck, but I'd go with MacGuyver for the easy way out and for least like, I'd say a flatulent, ornery old man.

I thought it was kind of weird, cuz they come out of nowhere. But it did rule when the Drago beat everyone up.

I'd put screaming in it's own category and separate it from rock.

screaming + rock = bad rock

Who came out of nowhere? Lucas? It did seem odd since there was no pretext to him going to get some Dragos.

Yeah, it was just "oh no, we're trapped!" and out of nowhere comes Lucas and a drago to save everybody. But it sort of shows his "gentle" aspect compared to Claus's rambunctiousness.

That's true too. Pretty much since the part where he ran off crying a few chapters prior he really wasn't doing anything except hanging out with Boney. If I hadn't known he was definitely the main character, I would've assumed he definitely wasn't.
