I will definitely be playing as Akari. I don't really like Hikari. If I played as a guy, I may play as the EAM guy, but I'm not sure. He doesn't seem like the typical Harvest Moon player; but the ToT guy looks so...plain.

I'm still not sure of who I'll be playing as. I think I like Akari more, but I don't want to play as the same character over and over. And Hikari looks much better in the game than she does in artwork. Eh, whoever I choose, I'm just going to be wishing I chose the other character anyway. D:

When I play as a guy, though, I'm definitely playing as Yuuki. I like him a lot more than Takeru.

I definitely like Akari's face more, but I'm not sure about the hair. I like their hair equally.

To me, Takeru's a bit plain, but he fits the typical Harvest Moon look. Yuuki does not make me think Harvest Moon. I dunno what it is about him, but there's just something about him, maybe his hair, that doesn't fit.

Eh, when I think of the typical "Harvest Moon look" for a guy, I think of Jack: Overalls, and a blue cap with an orang brim on backwards, with two sprigs of hair sticking out from under it in front of the face.
Maybe it's because I played so much HM64 when I was little, but that got ironed into my head.

Neither Yuuki nor Takeru nor Hikari seem Harvest Moonish to me. Akari does, though. She looks a lot more earthy than Hikari.

As for the boys.... I like both of them... If I ever played as a boy, I dunno who I'd play as... I could go either way

They got rid of those ridiculously annoying ToT voice effects, too. I think the characters yawn when they go to bed, but they don't say too much, thank goodness. I got really sick of hearing "Let's go!" and "Yeah!" every other second.

The 'There, there,' got VERY annoying for me. Having to run around outside, petting chickens, ducks, a horse, a sheep, a goat, and a pregnant cow, then going inside to pet my silkworm just before he watched the horror of my throwing the chicken eggs into the mayonase machine (ya gotta admit, that's kinda morbid; I hated having to throw them in there on days where the chickens and ducks were in there, too), and hearing the constant, "There, there; there, there; there, there." It drove me mad!!! @-@

AAH, Akari's "There, there" soundbyte drove me INSANE. I eventually just turned the volume off when I went to pet my animals. Twenty-four times, that obnoxious little "There, there"... GAAH.


The "Let's go!" soundbyte didn't bug me as much, but that's probably because I didn't wake up twenty-four times every in-game day.

So, question to anyone who has the game, because I'm confused.
Flute Tailoring.
Ranch Story says it (along with Kotomi) is there from the beginning, while Ushi no Tane claims it unlocks after the Blue Bell. I know Roomi doesn't move in until the Blue bell, but otherwise, I'm confused.
Also, Ranch Story says it upgrades by shipping anything, but Ushi says it's just farm goods.
What's the deal?

Flute Tailor is there from the beginning, with just a few clothes to buy. You have to complete the blue bell to get Luni back, and then you get more clothes.

How do the rucksack upgrades work in this game?

The rucksack upgrades are much the same as in ToT, but with more random things you need to bring her. The first requires any quality wool and ten green herbs, and the second calls for Perfect+ quality wool, one honey, and five stamina drink.

Anyway, about the bells. Is possible to get them done relatively quickly? Like, in the first year? I've noticed different characters arrive for different bells, unlike ToT's one rainbow to get everybody.

Also, is everybody accessible after the first four bells? I know the god and goddess can't be married until the storyline is done, but what about everybody else?

And finally, after completing a bell, are the arrivals instantanteous? Or will I have to wait until a certain date, like the first or the fifteen?

Oh, actually one more thing. Do I have to upgrade certain shops to get certain characters to arrive? If so, is it particularly hard and/or do-able in the first year?

Cool. So I'll be able to get everybody probably by mid-summer since I have nobody to send me corn. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lalasad.gif) But That's still kind'a silly that it can be done so quickly. Oh well . . . it's good for me!

I had another quick question(s) (I'm just full of them, aren't I?).

I was reading some older posts and saw that the 9 and 10 heart lines are the same. So, I was wondering if, after marriage, they say different things for hearts 10-20.

I was also kind of wondering if they said the same things they do in ToT or if they decided to be a bit more creative.

Your spouse will start at 13 hearts after marriage (God/Goddess at 12), and they have different lines for 11-19 hearts, 20th lines same with 19th lines

I havent got married yet at ToT (real marriage, not marry then load :p), but I've read Marie's translation for Chase lines here and I noticed that some are still basically same, with a bit change there and there

like at 10 hearts, he says that "he'll always love you even after 50 years" (ToT) and "He'll always love you forever" (AP) for 19/20 hearts
or 8 hearts ToT, about "loving his job both as your husband and at bar" and "how happy he's with his job as your husband since he can tries to do various things" for AP 17 hearts

Not a much change, hmm?

but if we compare his 7 hearts ToT line and 16 hearts (AP) in same level (TOT/AP: 10/19; 9/18; 8/17; 7/16), it has some more differences

since in AP, he said that "he hates to be patient, but will try hard to stay patience if he needs it so he can be with you" while in ToT, he says that "he has short temper and easily get into arguments, but it doesnt mean his feelings has changed"

.....like that, although it's just based on 1 example, of course....

I've just checked the wiki for lines, and I've seen that 7 hearts ToT line for his 15 hearts AP line, so that one is a new line, it seems, since I dunno about ToT 6 hearts line at all

It's really cool. The second song in the first one always gets stuck in my head though. And if anyone wants to translate what they're saying/the words at the beginning, that'd be cool, but it doesn't matter. If I should move this thing to the Youtube section, just say so. There's also a SSBM/B one, if anyone's interested.
