(Nurse Fin's) Exciting Animal March: A First Look, Observations about the game Options

I finally got to complete the circus. Theodore put on a fantastic show at the end. The giraffe catches some hoola-hoops around it's neck, the elephant rides a bicycle, and the hippo rolls around a few times and accidently rolls on Theodore(best part of the show). Also the animal taxi service is amazing. It saves so much time. Also I love to call the elephant because when you call it to take you to Kaval Meadow, it flies you there. Yes, it flies!


Edit: You get 1 heart from giving 1 coffee to the Wizard by using the rubbing trick? Woah. That's awesome.

So, are the motion controls any better in this game?

There are no motion controls. They got rid of it.

Wow. That kinda sucks. I mean, I never really used that for using tools, and it threw me off sometimes when I was fishing, but still. To just completely ditch the idea?

I'd rate it 9/10. It's the the best since HM64.

The player 2 controller trick, where you take the 2nd Wii mote and gain extra affection with people by aiming it at them over and over again.

This game put and improved some old features from all old games together, but not really many new, original one
but people who never really got chance/stop playing older HM will find it great though
It has a lot of things to do too at the beginning, but after some seasons, it'll just give same feelings like other HM and you have nothing much to do

Most dialogs are just a bit recycled or re-arranged from ToT dialogs and 9&10 hearts have same line (which mean we have one less lines), Not really many exactly exciting new features (Raising kid, helping spouse, 2 children, child like your spouse; they're improved, but not really new. All of them are there already on older game), Festivals and Circus are still plainly boring (typical read some short cutscene dialogs, repeated circus scene every seasons or joining festival without lot minigames or interaction), Easy to finish and so typical storyline, Too long and slow day, Limited livestocks animals....

And the bgms also not exactly my taste, other hm has better bgms imo and I've always feeling like to stop playing whenever fall comes thanks to the music

Aww... Well, I guess it's true about the fact that Harvest Moon games all have that "finish the storyline, get married, and you're done" feeling. ;x

Ughhh. Long and slow days...? So if I think that the days in HMDS Cute are long then the ones in Animal Parade are DREADFULLY long, amiright? -Jumps off a virtual cliff-

I'm usually a fan of the background music in Harvest Moon games. They get stuck in my head all the time!
Though, fall is usually my least favorite. Nothing beats the HM64 Fall Theme in the way of Fall Themes.
They didn't make the Winter theme suck, did they? D: That would be horrible. I always love the Winter themes. Even in ToT. There was a chord change in it that was just beautiful. </musicnerd>
Is there at least an option to turn down the music and keep the sound effects? It's just not as immersive without the sound effects.

Any weird or creepy dialogue lines like in the Japanese ToT? (Like Ose's line about getting violent if someone tries to take you from him, and Gill's stalker-tastic 10-heart line about locking you up and keeping you all to himself) I always wished they'd translate those lines directly. :[ Safer dialogue makes for more boring characters.

I always only kept cows and sheep in my barn anyway, and maybe a horse. Sure, riding the ostrich around had some novelty, but it doesn't earn its keep very well. Then again, neither does the horse... but it is faster.

The one thing I worry about liking in this game is the time flow. I prefer a quick time flow. But if the maps are big enough, I suppose it won't feel like time is passing as slowly. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lalaexdee.gif) Real time tends to flow in a completely different way when playing Harvest Moon, doesn't it?

I hope Natsume will FINALLY do something GOOD with the Harvest Moon games and just give us some fangirling-worthy heart quotes in Animal Parade~ ;x

I love that line, actually. It's amazing how much one line just completely changes his character. Gill is a lot more... boring and Sir-Proper-Boy-ish without it. I mean, I love Gill as it is, but he'd be even better with that line translated properly.

OHOHOH I REMEMBER THAT LINE! I giggled hardcore when he said that. "There are perks to dating me, like all the desserts you can eat!" Silly Chase, you don't have to bribe me... not that I mind free desserts. ;]

I liked the time flow in Magical Melody best. I think it was around 7 seconds = 10 minutes.
Well, I liked the time flow in ToT, but the maps were too big for it. It was actually a challenge to get out to Brownie Ranch before it opened.

Now, we have Brawl somewhere, but if the tournament's any time within the next two weeks, I can't join. :[ My brother and I have custody battles over the Wii. Right now, it's at the other parent's house, with him, for the next two weeks.

Thats sad...I feel horrible for anyone who has to share their wii with their siblings, I never shared anything with mine.

It takes too long to get around places in TOT, which is why I have to plan the day the night before, so I don't waste time, but if the days are longer in AP, then that should be easier, but it looks like the land is even bigger, according to the map.
