I loved Magical Melody because there was always something else to do. It was hard as heck to get 100% completion. (I don't think I ever did; Art Note and Expert Angler kept me from beating it, at least)
And it was so free. You could pretty much put anything wherever you wanted. I kinda missed that in ToT; my ranch looked cramped after a while and I had all this other land that wasn't doing anything but holding a bunch of trees. LadyKartoffel, did you let your spouse choose the gender of the child? If you did, it's whatever gender their child with the rival would have been (e.g. Vivian is a girl, so Gil or Roomi would choose to have a daughter, but Roy is a boy, so Ose and Cathy would choose to have a son, etc.) If not, "女の子" means girl and "男の子" means boy, basically. Someone should say one of those in regards to your child at some point. On the other hand, if you don't find out, it'll be a surprise when he/she grows up! |

I married the wizard, and I'm pretty sure I let him decide. There were 3 options and I chose the last one. I think. It was a month ago. I haven't been able to play because of work. Does anyone know what you tend to get if you let the wizard decide?
And thanks for the translation with the.. I'm not sure which ones those are called, there's three types of Japanese characters, right? |

QUOTE I still haven't gotten my kid to grow up fully in ToT. He's on the last stage. I dunno, I just got bored of ToT. It didn't have much to do. Did this happen to anyone? *raises hand* Sort of. I FINALLY got to my child's first birthday, and what happens? Calvin and Phoebe get married, so I don't get to see my daughter grown up! It's not fair! I've thought about losing hearts with them, but I think I saved the night before her birthday (Fall 30th, and her birthday is Winter 1st). Not fair at all. I just shut it off without saving in hopes of finding a solution, but there isn't one. It's very depressing. QUOTE Oh and where did NurseFin go!?? I was on deviantArt last night, and I saw her page, and I think it said she'd been on there just a few hours ago. But I'm not positive or anything, and I don't think she ever replies to anyone. I could be wrong, of course. |

I'm not sure which ones those are called, there's three types of Japanese characters, right? Oi. It's probably random, then. Here's hoping you get whichever gender you want. The character that differs between "boy" and "girl" is Kanji. :] There's also a Hiragana character in both words, but it's unimportant as far as the difference goes. I FINALLY got to my child's first birthday, and what happens? Calvin and Phoebe get married, so I don't get to see my daughter grown up! It's not fair! I just shut it off without saving in hopes of finding a solution, but there isn't one. It's very depressing. D: That is depressing. Stupid Calvin and Phoebe, mucking up your kid's birthday plans. Hey, it could be worse; your game could've glitched up and kept your kid in tottering, random-word-spouting phase forever. The child's birthday event is cute. It's not too special, but it's cute. Basically, she skips around the house and talks in sentences. The dinner is disappointing, though. There's food on the table, and you give her a gift. I was hoping for more, personally, but whatever. |

No. Just one plot, and you have to pay the mayor back for it. Does it crush your hopes and dreams? Think about it.
It makes it more realistic. In the original series you inherited the farm from your Grandpa. Then they lost that theme, and it got a little convoluted. "Oh, you're giving me how many acres for free? No, I'm not suspicious at all! Thank you very much, man I've never met before!" |

^Haha! No, actually I like it a lot. Like how big is this one plot and how much do you have to pay for it?

I thought I heard that you didn't actually ever have to pay it back, unless you wanted to by more property or something?

This site says you have to pay 5000G for the Town Hall to start selling property. Maybe that's your debt that you have to pay back?
It is more realistic, though, as opposed to the WE'RE DESPERATE COME TAKE OUR LAND approach that never made much sense. Not that I had much of a problem with getting free land, but it was sort of silly. |

Well, you talk to them, give them gifts, etc. just like in ToT. Except they're easier to befriend. It also helps that at 3 hearts you get the ability to pick them up, which raises the heart level even more. At level 6 you can take them home. Also, I heard (haven't tested it myself) that if you have your maximum number of pets and you want a different one, you can kick one of your pets out and take in the new one.
Who has what pets? My brother makes fun of me because I got all three cats. My character is a crazy cat lady (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lalaexdee.gif) My house isn't level 4 yet, but I want the Shiba. I have to wait until fall, though. Hopefully I'll have my final upgrade by then (it's so expensive... DX) |
