Well I would certainly plan on playing more than just EAM if I got a Japanese Wii. It would just be the first game I'd get. And I plan to get it alongside Animal Parade, because it's still a good way to practice reading Japanese. I can read Hiragana and Katakana, and a little Kanji. Sure, I wouldn't be able to understand everything in the game, but I could manage if I focused on the right vocabulary. Besides, I do learn languages very quickly. It's why I don't take school language classes; they're all painfully slow. And I don't use Wi-Fi on the Wii, so it wouldn't really be an issue for me. The American box art is indeed less colorful. Aww. Least the game isn't less colorful. By the way, to anyone who owns the game, are the controls the same? Can you still use the classic controller? I'm not sure if the controls are the same. This is how I'd describe them: -A Button: Confirmation button -Directional Pad: Scroll through items in rucksack -+ button: Opens a map -Minus button: Throws things away(Might do other things, I'm not sure). -One Button: I believe it brings up a Help screen. -Two Button: Nothing -B Button: Cancel button -C Button: Opens menu(the one used to check villagers and pets hearts and more). -Z Button: This button is used to aim with your tools(Brings up the little orange aiming square, it's hard to describe) I know, my descriptions are horrible but I tried. And according to the back of the box, you can use the classic controller. |

Thanks much! :]
Those seem to be mostly the same. (I'm not sure, though; I used the classic controller when I played ToT because sitting for hours on end with my hands stuck out eventually got tiring.) Long as I can use the classic controller, I should be able to figure it out. |

Wow, I don't know a single little bit of Japanese at all, and I am still getting through the game just fine. Well, I look up guides sometimes.

I always choose the first choice when responding and everyone seems to stay happy with me. For storyline stuff I read the guides. For everything else I just guess until I get it right. The game is very forgiving.
Edit~ I like finding the Japanese characters that look the most like our alphabet and making names so I can read them. I know there's an English alphabet, but it's more fun that way. |

GAH DO NOT LOOK FORWARD TO THE PURPLE BELL!!! IT IS SO EVIL YOU FEEL LIKE EATING YOUR TV SO AS YOU DONT HAVE TO FINISH IT!!! With my game by mid summer when I started it, I had 2 people on 3 hearts and about 9 on 2 hearts. Its really depressing because every day you give someone a gift you get exited that they gained a heart, but they never do >_<. Then about 7 of them rise up all at once, and then the last one takes forever to rise... ITS SO EVIL!!! |

Its really depressing because every day you give someone a gift you get exited that they gained a heart, but they never do >_<. Then about 7 of them rise up all at once, and then the last one takes forever to rise... ITS SO EVIL!!! Yeah, the purple bell is annoying. Like, there are some people that I have to buy items because I can't get anything that they love for free. And that eats up my money, which I need to seeds. And people's hearts just won't budge. They should've made it 5 villagers rather than 10. I've got 4 more but it feels like it'll take forever. And to cuppycake!, for the purple bell, you have to befriend 10 villagers to 3 hearts. This is because they'll only tell you their wish once you get them to 3 hearts. Once you are told a wish, you have to go to the mural/fresco/glass thing in Perin's room at the church. Communicate with the mural and you get a list of villagers. You select the one whose wish you got and the wish will be told. When you've given 10 wishes, the purple bell's quest should be done. |

That doesn't sound very exciting (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lalatounge.gif) out of curiosity, what do you have to do for the first bell quest? |

I know it'll be tough towards the beginning, but I would really wanna do that to know what their wish is. I find that interesting. Maybe it's just me...

I haven't even started the purple bell. I kind of did the other four all at the same time, but then I got married... I've been busy raising a family, upgrading, and trying to get rival marriages. I figure by the time I actually start the purple bell quest I'll have pretty close to ten people anyway because of the rival events...
I haven't gotten to play for about 3 weeks because of my internship. But I only have a week left and I plan on hard-coring EAM for about a week. |

I'm not sure quite how to describe, so here's a link at Fogu that throughly explains the red bell. They also have stuff on the other bells and just about everything in the game. http://www.fogu.com/hm/animal_parade/the_red_bell.php |

IIRC the blue bell doesn't take that long. Nothing is long compared to the purple bell. Here's the blue bell at Fogu: http://www.fogu.com/hm/animal_parade/the_blue_bell.php And I'm not sure of the minigames. I know there's horse racing but I don't know what else. |

You kind of have to start the first four bells at the same time to be able to do them. Like, you have to have the key to the water mine (which you get when you start the blue bell) to get the ore you need to finish the red bell. And you have to complete the blue bell to get to the island before you can finish the green bell. And the yellow bell... I think it's the easiest actually. I did it in two nights. So I kind of did the first 4 bells all at the same time.
The purple one is the hard one. And I don't think getting hero rank is that hard. I've been hero rank since the first summer, you just have to grow the right crops and use your fertilizer. |

Man, this one has so much more stuff in it! I'm so excited for it! I have a question. Ya know how in the characters section where it says: First Appearance? Well, why do some say From the beginning / Enter Koto Accessories or From the beginning / Enter Garmon' Mines? Is that just telling you where to meet them at, or do you still have to do a little work before you meet them?

If it says from the beginning, the person is there and you unlock them by going into their house/shop, the mine, or wherever. No extra stuff needed. |
