Ahem. I am too psyched for this game. I just hope Natsume keeps their release date... that's laughable.
It's this reason I'm learning to read Japanese. Then next time, this won't be a problem.
Unfortunately, the Wii is region locked (which is the dumbest idea to ever be put in practice). And I can't afford another Wii. Not now, anyway.

I want a Silkworm plushie! Silkworms are adorable.
Not likely, but it would be cute.

Spouses do tend to get boring after a while, having about five basic lines for the rest of your married life. :[

I originally wanted to have two daughters, but now I'm starting to like the idea of a romanticist younger son. I don't know.

^I think updates to your Wii might prevent that. I don't know. I really should check here often.

I'm sure I can, but I'll bet it's a sketchy piece of hardware/software/whateverfirmnessnessitisware.
Given my history with consoles breaking and going screwy (my Xbox 360 and my Wii broke in the same week... when I was ten minutes away from saving the Goddess in ToT.), I don't want to take any chances with any sketchy Wiiquipment. I'm too much of a goody-goody when it comes to the health of my consoles. ^^;

... Did I just say "Wiiquipment?" Oh my god I'm going insane. I must be.

Granted, a Japanese Wii is a very expensive thing, but if I end up bricking my Wii I'll have to pay for a new Wii and Japanese Wii, because clearly I'd be too incompetent to get any modifications to work. I'd rather not take the chance.
On the other hand, I do have easy access to soldering equipment and a family member who's a huge electronics nerd. Getting a modchip installed may not be too difficult. Still, it would probably void my warranty, and knowing my luck, something stupid like the disc drive would break within a week.

I'd join a Mario Kart tournament, but I don't have the game. The only Mario Kart I have is the 64 version. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lalaexdee.gif)

^ Multitudes of them. If you search up Wakuani on YouTube, the vast majority of the videos are hers.

I wouldn't last long, anyway. I fail miserably at all things racing-related.
It does sound like fun, though. ._.;

I sucked at it when I was first starting off (my friends pummled me), but after a while I got the hang of it, and it's really fun. You should rent it sometime. :D

I finally got Kotomi to 6 hearts. She sent me a love letter. I have to stop getting her hearts up though because if I get her confession, the other marriable girls will lose a heart. I can't have that while I'm trying to get 5 more wishes. I just got Anise and Leena to 2 hearts, and Shiela is close to 3 I think. Also I got the Blue Mist flowers unlocked. Hopefully I'll have over 200,000 gold by the end of the month. I need to upgrade my house and tools. Plus I'd like some more clothes. And for my kids, I'm gonna have a girl first and then let Kotomi decide the gender of the second kid.

I still don't have the game. ._. But I do have some extra birthday money left over. I was planning on saving up for a Japanese Wii and EAM, though.

I guess I could go down to GameStop and see if they've got a relatively cheap used copy. I've always kinda wanted it. Much as I suck at racing games, they are fun.
If I can get it, then sure, I'll join the tournament. :]

Shouldn't be difficult not to get hearts. Long as you just stop communicating with her, her affection won't go anywhere.

'Scept in ToT, when I married Chase, I did part-time jobs at the bar every day. I had to give Maya bowls and bowls of failed soup to prevent the rival events from happening. o_o As much as I dislike Maya, I felt kinda bad about it.

I'm kinda glad that hearts with people are harder to come by in EAM. It was much too easy in ToT. If I tried, I probably could've proposed to another villager before Chase even moved in.

Hold the phone, you can grow Blue Mists? Awesome! Talk about the perfect crop.
Speaking of crops, and I apologize if this has already been asked, but how many crops does one seed bag grow? Is it one like in AWL, 1x6 like in ToT, or 3x3 like in... everything else?

Gah I have regretes. First I wish I didn't marry Mai, I like her too much and marrage to you kills women. They become very normal and domestic, And thats not Mai!!! I think then Only bride I could marry without feeling bad would be Witch, Cuz' she seems very lonely in that scary dark forest. Marrage to others is exactly the same, but then that woman isn't my problem. I also wish I didn't have the first daughter, Everyone wan't daughters so I feel generic. Plus I wish she was born in Summer rather than Spring, as now I have longer to wait before I can give her an afro!

LOL on the afro thing, but I want boys over girls myself. I just...do. But I'm going for older son/younger daughter so that I can have a child of both genders.

As for Oscar's question;
One of the bell quests (the last one I think) involves raising 10 villagers to 3 hearts, where they tell you their wish in life. You need to retell these wishes to a fresco in the church (where the particular bell is placed) to get that bell to ring.

I personally wouldn't bother buying a Japanese if you are just going to play EAM. It's going to be released in 3 months, so by the time they shipped it here you would only have it a couple months before the English version came out anyway. I mean, that's just my opinion. And as long as your Wii isn't updated you can still use other software to bypass the region codes, you just have to take the risk of it killing your Wii. I know a lot of people who have been doing that. But once animal parade comes out, if you want to be able to use the wifi feature you kind of have to upgrade.

Though I heard a rumor that the early Japanese version would *on occasion* erase your game file when you used the wifi thing, so I'm not going to use it until I'm sure it's fixed.

I heard that here and somewhere else #tries to remember who told her#

I read about the wi-fi thing on Fogu. If you use wi-fi too much, your file becomes glitched. IIRC it makes your game not able to activate certain events. Essentially, it ruins your game and forces you to start over. I don't use wi-fi, so I won't have the problem. Also I got my Japanese Wii just to play Tree of Peace. Now I've got about 5 Japanese Wii games. It was worth it. And it helps to be able to read Katakana and Hiragana.

Yes, being able to read Japanese when playing Japenese games is a big plus. xP JK.

I'd rather be patient and wait for the game. Besides, I can't speak Japanese, and I doubt I'd be able to learn it quickly because I've been in French 2 years and can barely speak it. Ick. Hate that class. Anyway, I can't wait for the English EAM trailer! :D :D :D I hope our box is as colorful as the Japanese one is. It's not fair that the ToT one was so pretty and colorful, and then ours is all bland and brown and green. x6

There's box art on the IGN web site. I wish I knew where I could pre-order it. I'm just going to have it sent directly to my house this time. Most of the stores around here get games like that days or weeks after the release date, if they get them at all.

Amazon is cool, they have that 24 hour shipping.

Well I would certainly plan on playing more than just EAM if I got a Japanese Wii. It would just be the first game I'd get. And I plan to get it alongside Animal Parade, because it's still a good way to practice reading Japanese.
I can read Hiragana and Katakana, and a little Kanji. Sure, I wouldn't be able to understand everything in the game, but I could manage if I focused on the right vocabulary. Besides, I do learn languages very quickly. It's why I don't take school language classes; they're all painfully slow.

And I don't use Wi-Fi on the Wii, so it wouldn't really be an issue for me.

The American box art is indeed less colorful. Aww.
Least the game isn't less colorful.

By the way, to anyone who owns the game, are the controls the same? Can you still use the classic controller?
