Final Fantasy Options

I was more getting at how I see alot of FF fans like characters because they're "hot" or because they're just there. Rarely mentioning anything actually about them, just that they are. I'm fairly certain most of FFVII fanbase are fans because they first looked for information about it using Google Image Search.

FFVII was the first one I played but I didn't really find the characters as awesome as a number of other FF characters. I did like Barrett and Cid's frequent swearing though.

I also really like The dude Vincent Valintine...that guy even appeared as the main charecter in FFVIIDoC

It actually quite irks me when people proclaim themselves huge FF fans but never really played any of the games. Specifically the myriads of new generation FF7 fans who never even played the game. And when their excuse is, "Well I've played Kingdom Hearts and I saw Advent Children and it was cool so I KNOW THESE THINGS SHUT UP" I shake my head in shame. :(

On top of all that, it semi-revived the asinine debates about the Tifa/Cloud/Aeris love triangle... even after all this official info coming out stating that, yes, Cloud loves Tifa (even though that was made pretty obvious in the original), and that Aeris was in love with Zack.

Outside of FF7, there are people that say "I love FF8, Leon was such a cool guy!" *snorts*
I guess I'm just a snobby elitist then. :P Go me. But at least I don't fave characters based on their attractiveness. For cripes sakes, Cloud wears a purple sleeveless turtleneck with matching purple puffy pants. Yeah, real "hot". (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lalaexdee.gif) Though the cross-dressing episode does add to his appeal, I admit.




Anyway, on a slightly less moronic note, I'm getting the XIII trial version that's coming out in April. I'm so excited for Lightning for some reason o_o From what I can tell she will be totally awesome, so I hope she doesn't disappoint.

I wish there was an FF mmo cuz the thought of making your own spiky haired hero seems fun unless you make your toon look like a another spikey haired dude

I kinda like the lesser known Square games like Vagrant Story and SaGa Frontier better than Final Fantasies. Chrono Trigger and Cross are awesome too of course, but my favorite is definitely Vagrant Story.

Chrono Trigger is an excellent game, another one where I could level up for hours.
I still haven't finished Chrono Cross yet, I doubt I ever will. Its really good though.

FF was fun while it lasted, but to me it's pretty much a dead franchise. I used to be active on a big FF community, and it's downscaled considerably within the last few years (even dropping the "Final Fantasy fan site" thing and moving on to "RPG fan site"), because a large percentage of the old-timey fans feel the same way. I'm really bored with FF7 now, too, because my sister is a die-hard VII fan and I hear so much about it all the time.

And I also enjoyed some of Square's other titles more than FF. The Chrono series, and even more so Xenogears. (Kinda makes me resentful that they pulled the plug on funding Xenogears halfway through so they could invest more into their cash cow. Even with that drawback, Xenogears is still ranked as one of the greatest RPGs of all time. If any Square game deserves a remake, it's that one)

I'm excited for FFXIII, but more in the "This game looks really pretty, and might be some good fun; Final Fantasy games are generally good-quality" rather than the "OMG NEW FF GAME I'M CRAPPIN MY PANTS NOW SO EXCITED" way.

Xenogears was pretty awesome, but I never got to finish it cuz I borrowed my friend's copy. Square really had a golden age going on during SNES and Playstation.

it really be much better to see sepheroth be a main character in the next FF game cuz then it would be so fun it would be better than the new game Braid..cuz that game looks too dorky... no offense to anybody who on Rs who plays Braid

I don't see how Braid enters into it. It's not even remotely related... even by genre. As for Sephy, wasn't he featured in some Tactical RPG styled cellphone game in Japan? Not that America'd ever get it, but still.

I don't know it's just I was reading Gameinformer the having to do with the top games of 2008 And braid was 1 of them cuz of its hero,but I wasn't really surprised that it didn't become #1 ...But I know which game and it's called Fallout3


Anyawy as I was I meant a videogame for maybe the Xbox360 or the PS3..not the cell Darth..

Sephiroth Sucks!

I'd rather we get a Final Fantasy: Kefka's Big Adventure spinoff next. It will be a simulation game where you, Kefka, now that you have moved the Magi statues (iirc) and conquered the world, must manage the surviving people down below: it's boring if you kill off too many people, but if you leave them alone too long, they will start to revolt; put them back in their place by shooting lasers or setting the town hero on fire.
