I have some questions!~ :D

How often does katakana appear in this game?

And are the items written in hiragana?

Katakana appears... well, average frequency I guess. All of the characters save for the special marriage candidates have names written in katakana (and if you marry them, their name will change).

Items are written in hiragana/katakana/kanji or any combination of the 3 depending on what it is. Like かぶ (Turnip), 毛糸 (Wool Yarn), or アニマルホイッスル (Animal Whistle).

Thank you.

Do you think I could get by knowing very little kanji and katakana? @_@

I don't know really. I know I would get too frustrated with a game if I couldn't understand what was being said, but some people with very limited Japanese knowledge can import games and play them just fine. I don't think it's so much a matter of being able to read the text... but it's more important to understand what they are saying (they should go hand in hand, but it's possible to read without understanding).

But it's hard to say for sure until you actually try to play a game in Japanese... or you can see the difficulty level yourself through my EAM videos on Youtube.

I'm fine with playing a game I don't understand. :D And I have played some games in japanese, but that was like 4 years ago when I didn't know ANY japanese.

I can translate some of what is being said in your videos, but it's kind of confusing.

Again, Thank you. <3

It's not really that hard playing Japanese games. When I first imported an HM game(AWL), I didn't know any Japanese but I managed to get along fine in it. I've played many Japanese games without knowing Japanese and I've always have fun. Now I know Katakana and Hiragana and it helps but I'd still play even if I didn't know anything. Since you do know a little Japanese, you'll definitely enjoy the game.

You have to ring the Blue and Green bells before you can talk to him and give him gifts... So you can start courting him early/mid-summer at the earliest. But even at that rate it's possible to marry him in Winter so you can take your time.

Aww, I don't have to do the bells in a certain order right?

And is it pretty easy to get Coffee and Tam-Tam mushrooms?

Different ways to write stuff.

Katakana is used to write foreign words.

Hiragana is like the alphabet.

And Kanji is a word.

I hope I explained that right.

His eyes are green... They're just closed most of the time. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lalaexdee.gif)

I assumed they were green. But I've never seen his eyes open. I wasn't sure if he could open them. Kinds like lyla. But either way, why aren't the kids eyes closed but green when they're open?

Tao's daughter is cute. She has nice green eyes. Too bad I'm a boy and can't marry him. I kinda wish I played as a girl just so I could marry the Wizard. He's cool looking.

I guess Toby's children don't inherit his squint-eyed habit...

Nothing's stopping you. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lalatounge.gif) Unless you plan on using up all your save slots with a boy protagonist.
