I find myself running out of things to do and sleeping early, too. o_o

Now I don't want to let my cows out. o_o Any drawbacks to that besides having to feed them and making them.. possibly unhappy?

Have you figured out how to hatch eggs? I tried leaving an egg alone for days, but nothing happens, so I'm wondering now.

EDIT: Oh, I wanted to mention that if you run out of things to do, if you have a considerable amount of stamina left, you could spend it all by jumping into the river and possibly finding ores. Kind of annoying, but.. Uhm, that's how I got junk ores and such. Junk ores sell for like 120g too. How bizzarre.

Junk ores actually sell for 200G ^^'

Anyway, that's what I do, but even then it only takes up like, 1 hour at most... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lalaexdee.gif)

My daily routine is
1) Take care of animals (this takes the longest)
2) Water crops
3) Talk to random people
4) Jump in the river until stamina runs dry
5) Recharge Guts meter
6) Jump in the river until stamina runs dry again
7) Save and sleep

>>

I think selling stuff at the bazaar is fun though. I like it when people come to talk... too bad the conversations with the bachelors and bachelorettes doesn't seem to raise their LP much.

So I got the game yesterday, and now I'm in Year 1 Fall.

My main comment: I want to udder-punch my darn cows. Every time I let them out, they DO NOT want to go back in. If you ring the bell they will only follow you for a few steps, and if you push them over to the barn they will start running back to the field before you can steer them in the other direction. They remind me of my dog. Ugh.

You haven't seen the horse yet the only time it ever agreed to go inside is when it's raining (IMG:style_emoticons/default/jack2_mad.gif)

Finally got Schmidt to a purple heart, and I'm able to meet Kagetsu (haven't done it yet, am about to)

One thing I noticed is that I have not been able to activate a single rival event so far; I just started Year 2. And all the source guides I'm looking at have conflicting info and little-to-no specifics about the triggers. D:

O_o

Are you breezing through the game or something? YEAR 2 AND YOU HAVE NOT SEEN ANY RIVAL EVENTS?!

It takes me around an hour to do TWO DAYS for me. I'm t the end of Autumn Y1 and I pretty much have my Windmill level maxed, seen a LOT of events (rival ones too), and there is NO WAY I could have reached Y2 without getting any of that done.

I found Dirka and Enju's first event VERY EASY to get.

Try this.

I'm not sure if this affects anything, but I got Enju's gray heart event the day before I got this one (so you may have to get Dirka's if your character is female).

Anyways.

3:30pm. On the town square, exit on the BOTTOM left. You will see their event (which is Enju hopping down the mini cliff things and then "getting hurt". Dirka goes to see if she's ok, she's fine and leaves).

Actually...almost every event I have had took place around 3-4pm.

I've tried doing stuff like that like crazy... Running around in circles around the whole town all day and night trying to get some kind of events x_x I've gotten all the bachelors' purple heart events from trying :[

I have my windmill level maxed too, and my cooking skill is pretty high... the only thing I really haven't worked on much is my bug-catching skill because I'm lazy...

This game has pretty much been draining my life since the 26th, but to me the days seem so short (or long, when I'm waiting for something) since I run out of things to do...

hey, sorry if its asking to much, but could you describe some of the rival events?
cuz honestly I dont see how some couples fit together (ie. Agi/Anemone, Royd/Shelfer, and Enju/Dirka, but you already answered the last one.)

I just tried doing exactly that for 3 days in a row and it won't activate... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lalacry.gif)

Gah, I'm at the end of Autumn and I haven't activated a single rival event, either. O_O; Could it be that the bachelors all have purple heart? That shouldn't be.. Wait, no. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lalaexdee.gif) ; Well, maybe I'll try it after marriage?

Fin, you mentioned on Fogu that a good way to make money is to fish in front of the cafe and make fish dishes, but doesn't that mean you have to buy a fish dish first to be able to make them? Or is it already there in your recipe list and I never knew it? o_o;;

If you choose the second option in the cooking menu, you select the ingredients. You don't need the recipe to be able to make new dishes. ^^'

Ah, is that it? I had no idea. I'm too used to the IoH cooking system now, where choosing your own ingredients tends to mess the entire recipe up. c_C!! Likewise, I figured it was the same. Thanks for telling me. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lalaexdee.gif)

Alright, sorry about the late reply, I had been busy these past few days.

Anyways, the only other Rival event I had gotten was Gray heart Julis and Freiya.

Don't remember much about it other than it being small talk between the two as they had exited their houses in the morning. I remember Freiya making a reference to Julis being a tutor to the two twins. After their conversation was over, they walked away together.

I never have had the gray heart event for Freiya (had all the other girls, though).

I had 1 heart for Julis.

I'll post my game stats soon. Just had valentine's day and got cookies from all the girls. Is this supposed to happen?

[Got Agi and Anemone Gray heart.

18:00 next to Agi's house. I actually kept entering and exiting until they were the only ones in the area before I got it. I had no hearts on Agi, so I guess it doesn't matter. These seem to be completely situational. Now that I think about it, Julis and Freiya were the only ones on the map too. I assume the same happened with Dirka and Enju, but I can't remember. {EDIT: NVM WIKI UPDATED EXACT DAYS OF THE WEEK AND TIMES AND THEY FIT WHAT I GOT}

Here's my current stats, but I'm not done for the night (oh and I just found an emerald).

Character:
Male (Name):ミチェル
Bazaar is at 25% (SHOULD BE 50; The game cheated and had a villager make 58,700 when I had 50,000)

1 Cow (まきば)10 hearts (MAXED)
1 Sheep (カリファ)6 hearts
4 Chickens (can't figure out how to raise their hearts quickly)
-(ぴよこ) 5 hearts
-(チープ) 2 hearts
-(まりち) 2 hearts
-(ここ) 2 hearts
1 Cat (きこ) No hearts

Money made total: 283,664 G

15/49 Fish. Level is ミドル級な釣り人 (Middle Class Fisherman)
55/85 Bugs. Level is 虫とりセレブ (Insect Celebrity)
11/239 Recipes (Just started and have never actually cooked anything yet)
204/255 Windmill. Level is 世界の風使い (Wind User of the World? Better Trans.? Only 1 level left)

2 hearts for Shelfer (purple heart)
1 heart for Julis
1 heart Anemone (got it from her gray heart event)
3 hearts for Kevin (he likes bugs. ALL OF THEM.)

Wish Mucho could get hearts...

Got a gold medal for the Cow festival (only medal)

Storage:
3/8 for Size
1/3 for Preservation

Ranch has 1/2 for an extra field

Y1 Winter 15.

Oh and my Fishing Rod is a 3 star rod.

Don't think I forgot anything else...]

[FINAL EDIT: Alright, I'm going to bed now because I'm mad that I lost the Snowboard Race and turned my DS time. The day before was a bazaar and I placed third....again. I ended up buying all of the cooking supplies available, however. I think I got 4-5 new fish as well.]

These are my current stats:

Year 2, Spring 21

3 hearts with Juris
3 hearts with Dirka
3 hearts with Lloyd
2 hearts with Agi
3 hearts with Schmidt (only (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lalacry.gif) )
2 hearts with Shelfer
2 hearts with Enju
2 hearts with Freya
1 heart with Anemone
2 hearts with Felix
2 hearts with Erich
1 heart with Isaac
3 hearts with Kevin
2 hearts with Sigyn
2 hearts with Laramie

5 chickens, 2 cows, 1 sheep, 2 cats.
I've got around 90,000G on hand right now. Bazaar is still at 25% even though I've made 1st place twice already.
Storage is 2/8 for size, 1/3 for preservation, and I have the 2nd field...
The only contest I've done is the snowboarding, I got first place and got a Sand Rose...

I think this is the first game I've played that makes me look like an angry hardcore gamer, swearing at the screen and feeling near ready to chuck my DS right out the window. x(

awwww. only one heart with my poor wittle Anemone. she's prolly all lonely. =]

I have a question, is this like the other DS games where you have to be at like, year 4 before the rivals will get married? or is it more like ToT where then can get married whenever?

Well apparently I just found out why they won't activate

Rival events will NEVER happen if the marriage candidate is over a certain amount of LP... so... if I want to see any of them, I will have to knock all the guys' hearts back to 0. I think I might just want to start my game over... what a pain....

Maybe it's to keep items' quality for longer time ?
at one time I've put eggs in there and it became a 0 star item cause I left it for so long (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lalasad.gif)

I gots a few questions...

First of all... I have eggs and milk... but for some reason the kitchen won't let me cook pudding. When I click the recipe it makes that "NO" noise... and if I try to do it without the recipe it always fails... I dont understand why it's happening...

...and... The mayor sells the weird thing that looks like a black sheep wool.. it's called Toryufu or something... Does anyone know what that is?

And also... can you plant trees/tea bushes right next to each other or does there need to be some space in between?

thanks~

Don't know about the recipe (just started getting them) but I know the rest.

Thing the mayor sells are "truffles". You would use them for cooking.

Spacing between the trees. The trees plant on a 3 X 3 square so as long as they don't overlap, then you'll be fine (I have 3 peach trees and 1 olive tree and did just that method).

The "power-up" at the Bazaar is for preservation. I think (not positive) that if you get them all, the quality of your items NEVER decreases.

For now, though, on the first power-up, I was able to keep paprika, eggplants, peppers, and sweet potatoes in my storage unit from the begging of Fall until near the end of Winter and the quality never dropped.

gaaah. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lalagrin.gif)
I saw the screenshot of Anemone. shes absolutely adorable. now I really wanna marry her (it was kinda a hard choice. I LOVED her and Enju but I dont like the way Enju looks in the game, and I love the way the other girls look in the game but I digress...)

but I just wanna know,

1- are the rival events like the other DS games? like, you have to be in year 4 to get the last one? or more like ToT where you can get them whenever?

2- is it easy to get love points up?

3- is this game like IOH? cuz IOH was a major dissappointment to me (the only aspect of that game I liked was Lanna and Sabrina ><) and I dont want to get this one simply because I like Anemone.

please and thanks you,
