I meant writers in general. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lalaexdee.gif)
It was more in reference to the post before yours. |

I haven't and probably won't read these books (vampires are lame), have you Mike? Personally I'm a fan of authors who write somewhat ambiguously so that my imagination can fill in any blanks. I suppose, though, if they don't leave much room there and it's rather suggestive then it would be hard to defend it.

Thats a good joke, tell another. I'll agree as far as quality goes, these books lacking. These are book for preteen girls. Fast reads with fast plots. Somehow its gathered quite a following because little girls think vampires are sexy. Trashy romance novels are about 200 pages, and extremely explicit. These books are not. I seem to remember a rather large group of mothers following these books; once again, mothers wouldn't endorse these books if they were filled with the types of scenes found in those distasteful books. This is just another attempt to get kids to read big books with little plot, such as Harry Potter. It seems to be working. Hopefully they won't stop at this series, but will find they enjoy reading and pick up books with more caliber. |

Wow, there's been a lot of response since I was last on here. I'm gonna try and catch up. I personally enjoy these books very much. I'm dying to see the movie, I'm going to be one of those crazy fangirls at the theatre a couple hours before the movie starts so I get a good seat. I've read all four and me and a large number of my friends have been discussing the movie in depth. My personal favourite choices are Alice, Edward and Bella. I think they did a pretty good job casting them. And from what I've seen all the high school attending vampires have a lot of chemistry so it should be intense. They aren't my very favourite books but they are pretty high up there.

Okay from our earlier discussion about hair colour... His hair is a golden bronzy colour for the movie. :)

She doesn't have a tan!
And I'm sure they change his eye colour in the movie, it's not hard to do with contacts now. But, you haven't even seen the movie yet so how can you know? The trailers aren't going to look perfect. |

I started reading this a while ago. The first book was enjoyable, but I just dropped it in the middle of Eclipse because, in my opinion, it got really boring.
...I feel really bad for Robert Pattinson. He probably sleeps with a knife so all those Edward fanatics don't molest him. |

Saf, I promise I'll be good for the rest of the year if you delete this thread and make it against the rules to make twilight threads.

Since when did pale and unhealthy become attractive again?
The book was rather poorly written, the plot was unoriginal. The author's purple prose is overwhelming. Bella is plain yet extremely needy and vain. Edward is, in contrast to Bella, described as perfect with over 100 references to how beautiful he is. However, he's also controlling, stalks Bella by reading her friends minds to know her plans and whereabouts, and he watches her while she sleeps. Lovely. I'm a tough critic. The book was horrible. |

I'm pale and unhealthy. Pale has always been attractive, ever seen Dita Von Tease?
I don't think anyone here is saying it's one of the best books of all time. It's entertainment and all those people who say it's not good isn't going to matter because she's still selling millions and making millions from the movie now too. |

I believe that is directly linked to the number of morons with cash. Not positive, haven't done the research. Just a strong feeling.

No, what I meant was that no matter how bad it is, she's still EXTREMELY rich from it.

ok this thread is now coming from the dead
Twilight man this was a REALLY good book I think that alot of people have been talking to far (hence the screaming fans) and I think that it was a book that was just for fun as she said then it got published and then I started the storm that sweep MOST people and I read all the books in a week I stayed up into the wee hours of the night reading and reading it was like I was possessed. At first it was a dare to read the book but then I really started to like it and now I read it and no movie will ever compare to the book good or bad so really were you expeting them to reinact something that you have made in you head on how the charicters are and what everything looks like I mean you have to give them credit for trying because it would be a hard crowd to please hence the books reputation.
