The first hm game that I played was awl. since then nothing has really lived up to it for me. awl had a really personal feel to it. I love almost every hm game that comes out but there are many reasons why awl is just special
. not needing to upgrade buildings on the farm... they are just there. .unlimited grass ( not needing to buy fertilizer ) . aging (I thought it was really cool that awl had a thin story line on how you grow old and your child is an adult and everything) . game clock (you get up in the morning and you do all your work, give gifts to your girlfriend, dig in the mines. when you are done theres just time to chill out and relax and talk to people and drink at the bar and stuff. That hurry that is in all the other games just plain isnt there and it gives the game a fun relaxing feeling.) .music (it seems like there was alot of work put into the music in this game. whenever I go back to this game the music gives it a nostalgic feel. I am currently playing tot and I like but I feel like you have to much to do in such little time. |

im semi with you. AWL was the first I played and ya I loved it I was like obsessed. I do think that was nice, but I like that you always have to do something. it keeps the game interesting. ToT has unlimited grass too. but either way, I feel a couple have lived up and been better. MM and ToT and EAM will be by far the best ever. AWL was fun at the time but its so boring now I couldnt play it for 5 minutes (its true I tried a couple months ago)

I agree with FoodAssassin. AWL was great at the time and it's up there in my top favourites, but now when I go back to play it, it just bores me {probably because I've pretty much beaten it on AnWL}.

I never got to play it (my brother got me the girl version for Christmas one year and I exchanged it for MM), but factors like being able to take your time in the days (especially indoors) are pretty important to me. It sounds a lot like the original HM for SNES except more interesting, the aging, and the grass thing.
