I like putting my thoughts down.
I new generation of pokemon would be silly. How many do they have already? MILLIONS! The newer ones are getting less creative. They have enough, they should just play with the ones they have already. And how many more types can they think too make of? The ice, water, lightning, fire(and a few more) was good. Now they have every single thing and mixing some of the together. I mainkly know this from reading the pokemon trophies from brawl if your wondering, I don't really know that much about all the new pokemon. And if they make another legendary that'd be LAME! A legendary is a legendary, there shouldn't be thousands after it, otherwise, they don't seem too legendary.... I mean, pokemon are great and all and it's fun to experiment but no. You should just throw all the extra pokemon you want on pokeman ranch where it isn't such a pokemon game. ^Looooooooong opinion. |

"Pokémon Platinum introduces five new forms of Rotom, accessible by using the Secret Key item to unlock a hidden room within the Galactic Headquarters in Eterna City: Frost form, Wash form, Cut form, Spin form, and Heat form. Each form's appearance corresponds to a household appliance (a refrigerator, a washing machine, a lawn mower, a desk fan, and an oven, respectively), and is able to learn an elemental attack exclusive to itself, which is lost upon conversion to another form, despite that each form retains the Electric/Ghost-type.[4]" From: Wikipedia

The next legendary will be Deathchu, a black pikachu that kills every single pokemon and then it kills it self.
The End |

I hope the next generation comes much, much later, after they have gotten some fresh, better ideas. Generation Four was a huge disappointment to me. Most of the pokemon either were too cartoonish for me or seemed horribly uninspired. Ignoring Rotom, some of the other pokemon of Generation Four need work. For example:
-Pokemon, including the monkey-with-its-butt-on-fire and the weird, spring-tailed house cat, did not impress me. -Not only did they do a skunk pokemon, they had to call it "Stunky." -What's with all these legendary pokemon all of a sudden? By the way, is it me, or does it seem like a good chunk of Generation Four's pokemon were composed of evolutions and pre-evolutions of pre-existing pokemon? I have just grown disenchanted with the pokemon series (game wise, I stopped watching the show a while ago and I never played the card game). Generation One was wonderful, Generation Two was great, Generation Three was good, and Generation Four was poor. And if the pattern continues, Generation Five will be bad. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lalaexdee.gif) Yeah, a great ending huh? Ya, the second generation was truly one of the best. More options were available, I guess. |

*headdesks* OH PLEASE NO. I hope to God above that they are not really about to add another 150 of these increasingly unimaginative monsters just to keep little kids hooked and begging their parents to spend more money...

Well, I would not mind another generation of Pokemon if they can come up with something creative. There are loads of interesting Digimon, so it should be possible to come up with some more good Pokemon. They just need to be more original, like how they were when they did generation three.
I was going over the generations recently, wondering how original each one was. Obviously, the first was the most original because it was the first. After that in terms of originality is generation three, it has only TWO Pokemon that are pre-evolutions of previous Pokemon. Then it's generation two, it's a nice mix of completely new and a few new evolutions. And last place goes to generation four, which is nearly all pre-evolutions and post-evolutions - BORING! So, I think Pokemon would be really well off if they could pull off another generation three. I love memorizing new names and attacks and exploring new regions. I would love to see another generation. But I'm hoping more for remakes of Ruby & Sapphire and FireRed & LeafGreen. I want to be able to play all four generations on the DS . . . or at least on the same console. -_-; |

Personally, I think 493 Pokemon is more than enough. I remember back when it wasn't a huge difficult task to name every Pokemon without the help of a list...

Generation three was terrible. I guess you can say originality, but shitty originality. Like the type of garbage thats on refrigerators across the world.

I rather liked generation three. I thought it had lots of good Pokemon - Delcatty, Zangoose, Seviper, Altaria . . .

I too thought that Generation 3 was the worst of the batch. Altaria was the only nicely designed pokemon from the generation and it pretty much sucked. Anyone who's a shoddy battler, or a wi-fi battler will tell you that one of the greatest things to come out of generation 3 was Salamence - a pokemon I hate and will never put in my party. Aside from that? Nothing - except for those horrifying travesties called "pokemon contests". I cannot tell you how much I wish contests had never been invented. I want to catch and train pokemon - not dress them up and make them dance. (unless the silly dancing was only in gen 4... It's been so long since I played gen 3, I can't remember.)
I'm almost ashamed to admit that I loved the 4th gen games - not for the new pokemon, but because it was a lot more fun than gen 3 could've ever dreamed of being. And, as for a fifth generation... I have no doubt in my mind that they will. I think they'll probably wait for the next Nintendo hand-held console though. Red/Blue/Green/Yellow were all on regular gameboy, Gold/Silver/Crystal were on gameboy color (though only crystal was exclusive), Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald + 1st Gen remakes were on Gameboy advanced, and Diamond/Pearl/Platinum + 2nd gen remakes are on the DS - it wouldn't make sense for a fifth generation to come out as long as the DS still reigns. I do hope they'll come up with some decent pokemon designs for it - there are so many cool things out there in the world they can design off of, it just wouldn't make sense for them to come up with the same uninspired caricatures they brought in these last two generations... |

The dancing and dress-up was generation four. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lalatounge.gif)
I don't do any competive battling, so maybe that's why I don't have a problem with the third generation. I like the designs they used and all the bright colors. |

Yeah, but Digimon in general has a lot more leeway for designs since they can be cute, scary and/or grotesque, or very humanlike, to flat-out manifestations of angelic and demonic mythos, while Pokemon all have to be more or less cutesy. I think that's why Digimon has much more interesting designs while still having over 1000 different monsters, more than twice of what Pokemon has. The rules/hierarchy for evolution and the kind of world Digimon live in also make it very different. Anyway, I don't have any desire for new Pokemon. Personally the new designs after Gen 2 seemed lackluster to me, like they're running out of ideas. Magikarp > Feebas |

Personally the new designs after Gen 2 seemed lackluster to me, like they're running out of ideas. Yes! That is EXACTLY how I feel! Personally, I was okay with most of Gen 3's Pokemon. Gen 4 is where it started really sucking, since over half of them are 100% pointless new ways to screw around with classic designs or stuff that looks like it's from a different series entirely. It also feels like they're trying to turn everything in existance into a Pokemon. Like they pointed out in $upah NiN10D'oh!... Male trainer: "Okay, let's see, we've got every natural and manmade element, light, darkness, nature itself, life, death... I think we've covered just about everything." Dawn: "Only one place left to go... We go for GOD!" Male trainer: "Oh, no, we got that one too." Dawn: "Oh." Satoshi Tajiri: "...FFFFFFFFF***!" |

And yeah. As much as I absolutely adore Eevee and have to raise every single one of its evolutions, it becomes difficult when there are so many I can't fit them all in my team at once...
I still think Digimon is the one that had it right when leaving things open for new additions to the list. They still haven't finished making the Olympus Twelve, only 6 of those so far... the way Pokemon works leaves things kind of closed off-- every Pokemon (save for Eevee and a few other exceptions like Poliwhirl and Gloom) has one specific evolution line, with what seems to be a maximum of 3 stages. |
