Thought about this last night, and well, what the hell, I figure either it'll be a hit or no one will be interested and no big deal. Anyway, I was thinking of organizing a monthly fun tournament for Super Smash Bros. Brawl and Mario Kart Wii, one at the beginning of the month, the other at the end. Pretty much, the rules (or lack thereof) would change each time to keep it interesting. If this catches on, perhaps I can organize some kind of rewards for the winners.

The tournaments will pretty much take place on weekends since most people here are busy in the week with school. Brawl tournaments will pretty much be a series of fights in a tournament style while Mario Kart will be a series of races including anyone participating, Grand Prix style (I'll probably have some battle matches sometime too).

Anyway, post here if you are interested. Also it would be good to post your Brawl and/or Mario Kart numbers unless you've posted in the Online Code Thread that's already got a heapin' helpin' of numbers in it already. The prize for winning is 1000 Wii points, which I will be paying for so the winner may get whatever they want from the shop channel.


--SEPTEMBER TEAM TOURNAMENT--
This second Tournament will start either this weekend or next depending on sign-ups, and is a Team Tournament. If you want in, please find a teammate (can be someone on the site, a sibling, a friend, whatever you want). The prize will remain the same, and if the teammates are using separate Wiis then they both will receive 1000 points each.

The rules are as follows:
- 3 Stock
- Best 2 out of 3
- No items
- Stages: WarioWare and Mario Bros (the one with the turtles and crabs) aren't allowed
- Team Attack is OFF

Looks like we got a pretty good turnout so far, I hope we can get even more though.

If you don't know how to connect your Wii to the internet, either read the manual or send me a PM or talk to me on AIM and I'll help you get it set up (doesn't cost anything so for those of you who are younger, don't worry, your parents won't be getting billed or anything lame like that).

Also if your connection speed isn't too great, there's this thing you can do called port forwarding which when I did, I was able to play Brawl almost completely laglessly with my friends in Texas. It's kind of complicated, however, I wouldn't recommend it unless you're either savvy with computer stuff or have someone nearby who is and is willing to do it.

In simplest terms, as I understand it, the internet wants to send the information down a bunch of different paths to get to the other computers, but you tell it to just take the fastest.

Ok so we have 9 so far, I'm thinking maybe have a mini-tournament this weekend to see how well this goes. If you haven't already, find your number and post it. I'll figure out the plans later tonight, please post if you have things planned this weekend that might interfere so I can avoid complications when I set the matches. Ideally this'll occur over the course of the weekend as people are available and it'll sorta be up to the participants to find a time between themselves to get on and fight.

If you make an appointment and don't show up and we can't contact you by like, the day after the fight was supposed to happen, then I'm gonna disqualify that player and just send their opponent(s) up to the next level, unless it's the final round in which case they have to fight my twin brother who plays a mean Donkey Kong.

This first tournament will be a 1-on-1 elimination tournament, best of 3, 3 stock, items on (well, this is a choice between the participants each round). After the matches, I'll need players to say who won so I can update the brackets. Get practicing and get an idea when a good time to play will be!

I kinda figure not everyone will be available at the same time, I'm gonna be basing the first rounds on who's available when, which is why I need to know if people have work/plans. If no one else speaks up I'm gonna assume I can assign people to fight whoever and that they'll be able to decide a time whenever is convenient.

Also, it's still not too late for entries, if people still want in then by all means sign up.
