Three reasons:

1.) I didn't want to use something generic such as a paint brush or paint bucket.
2.) Being creative.

I was kind of expecting all the medals to be items from the games, but seeing how you've made the little speech bubbles, I guess it's too late. Not sure what you'd use though, maybe an egg for the "ask me questions" thing (since newer people, like eggs, need guidance!), or a book or something for the "detailed post" thing.

Oh yeah, where are all these "Ask me anything" threads I hear so much about?

Well that makes a lot of sense. Also I wondered why as a 21 year old I was forbidden from going into the Mature Topics section. Guess that was also a 500 post thing.

A lot of the threads look mostly ignored or dying, as much as I'd like to add to them I hate being the guy who brings back stuff no one wants to talk about anymore.

I've mentioned this somewhere, but reviving dead topics with a good reason or something valueable to add to the discussion is fine.

More likely "passed down" than collapsed. In about a year or so we'll probably look for young people to take over the place and carry on the legacy.

The Ask Me Questions topics are basically copies off of Saffy's thread. (Or even Ryu's) I thought it was cool so I made sort of a sequeal and people just kept doing that. =[
