Sonic Unleashed is the newest sonic game comming out this holliday season! Sonic Team is going back to the roots of old as sonic returns to his straight, back and forth, sence of motion. Although there are several parts in the game where you go into a complete 3D motion, mainly when making turns and grinding, this is surely the thing SEGA needs to bring their mascot back into action. Maybe not first in the gamming industry, but certainly far from last. Not to mention the addition of a brand new sonic transformation! By day a hedgehog, and by night, a werehog! It's a whole new spin on the sonic gamming generation! It's time do dash off with yet another addition to the grand sonic franchise! Can you handle the power of the new sonic?... *SYSTEMS* Playstation 2 (Surprisingly) XBox 360 Nintendo Wii Playstation 3 *RELEASE DATE* November/4th-8th/2008 *SEGA/SONICTEAM E3 INTERVIEW* Interview - Part1 Interview - Part2 Interview - Part3 *VIDEOS* Sonic Unleashed - Cutscenes and Gameplay Sonic Unleashed Gameplay Sonic Unleashed Desert/Woodland Gameplay Werewolf Sonic Teaser trailer *MUSIC* Sonic Unleashed Theme Song - Endless Possibilities More cool stuff to come! Umm...I think there's another trailer for the European level. I'll look for it.
Anyway, I think this game could very well return Sonic to his former glory. They're using their very own engine called the "Sonic Engine" to develop the game. Oh, and the Sonic Engine...its been in development for 3 years!!! It distorts graphics to make it look like you're going faster than you actually are so you get the speed feel without the suicide feel. Besides, if you look at the gameplay, you'll notice that it's basically the 80's gameplay wrapped up in the 00's graphics. It's the same 2-D gameplay that we've all come to know and love. It's a sidescroller and we all know that Sonic was meant to be played as a sidescroller. On a sidenote: I personally, loved Sonic Adventure Two Battle. It's my favorite Sonic game to date. Although, I probably loved it because of the kawaii Chao. J'adore, j'adore, j'adore les Chao!!!! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lalaexdee.gif) |

80's Sonic the Hedgehog first appeared in 1991. As for the rest of your post, it's awesome that they (apparently) put some actual work into the engine. Unless that 3 years is mostly coffee runs. I wonder if it can make me feel like I was moving as fast as I did in Sonic 2 when I ran through most of a stage without the camera capable of keeping up. God I love Sonic 2. And yes, Tolby. It annoys me too. What annoys me more is when I do it myself without a thought. I played the demo so many times when I got it with Phantasy Star Online. |
