Alright, I said I wasn't getting it but it ended up happening somehow. I was able to even get the dog plushie too, which was amazingly lucky since I didn't pre-order it. O_O
Anyone else got the game? I completely forgot about the minecraft-ish aspect of the game. There's so many cubes everywhere. I haven't gotten far due to finals but so far its a pretty decent game. (I'm just so happy there's no annoying cutscene yet that can't be skipped *coughanewbeginningcough*) All I've done is digging and messing up the land. |

I ended up downloading it on the eShop.
I am completely, positively 100% unimpressed. The "build your own farm" part of the game is cool. I'll admit that, despite the hideous textures and models. The mixing of fruits and veggies when growing them is also a neat idea. The rest of the game? Awful. Character designs are hideous. There aren't any other areas of the game except your house, the farm land, the Goddess Spring (which uses the Marvelous "TAAA-DAAA" type of Harvest Goddess attitude) and the occasional mines. One square at a time. Slowly. Watering, sewing, harvesting. As far as I can tell, no tool upgrades. Slow slow slow progression (worse than A New Beginning's opening...which was bad...) and bad character dialogue. Between Tucker's HOWDY Y'ALL attitude and the blacksmith with the racist Indian-type text ("What want today?", "Good cave, we come here now") I don't think Natsume can create interesting characters (they were even lacking when publishing the Marvelous-made Harvest Moon games...maybe XSeed will do better with SoS). So yeah. Unless they can do better in a sequel, this will be my last Harvest Moon. At least I have Story of Seasons to look forward to. Sorry to sound upset, but I can't believe I paid more than $20 on this game. |
