Well, now that we can trade via online without having each other's friend codes. trading is a lot easier, but until the pokebank goes into effect, certain Pokemon are still unavailable.
for those who don't know what the pokebank is, it is a cloud storage for your Pokemon. you'll be able to upload Pokemon from your old Pokemon (B/W/B2/W2) games and transfer them to your X/Y. it also checks for hacked Pokemon (unable to be uploaded, so the reports say). it will be released on December 25th in Japan and the 27th the US/Europe. You need to have a 3DS to do this and the uploads from B/W/B2/W2 will be one way, but 3DSes with the app will be able to upload/download with X/Y as often as possible. The bank will hold up to 30000 Pokemon and will have an annual service fee of $5.00/year. If you download and run Pokebank by Jan 31, 2014, you will get a free 30-day pass to use with the service, however, no details are known yet of what happen if you don't pay after that. stay tuned pokenatics! EB FYI - being friends unlocks a third poke safari slot in that friend's park. My friend code is 0645-6633-6173. you can also become friends with any acquaintance if you trade with them (after a random number of trades, it may ask you both if you want to register each other). |

I really liked the idea of the Pokébank. It makes me a little nervous having my Pokémon out in the cloud somewhere, but at the same time, they are just as likely to be lost there as they are with the battery pack in my game dying out sometime down the road. Plus at $5.00 a year (less than .02 cents a day) you really can't beat it. Using it will allow me to pull the legendaries from my current Gold game and finally start that over, because I've been itching to.
As for what happens when you stop paying, you basically can no longer deposit Pokémon in. I think rumors are out there that you can still pull them out, however. I think we'll see closer to when the time comes and everyone starts complaining. X) |
