Character information:
Name: Jerome Skin: White Face: Normal Hair: Wavy Perm Color: Black Eyes Gold Gear: Boy's Overalls Farm name: Beluga Birthday: Summer 13th Title: Egg-Stage Farmer Current Date: Spring 15th Money: 22329 Animals: 1 Cow, Manilo. I think that's everything relevant... feel free to add anything I may've missed. Anyway, usually we have a similar topic when everyone's beginning to play a new game. s'fun to talk about experiences and have a place for quick questions to ask other players. Right now, I don't have too many people in town. After Neil showed up to give me my first cow, Iroha showed up a few days later. Hopefully since I have a blacksmith now I can start getting some actual work done instead of just gathering/farming stuff... |

Yeah, the building animation's pretty adorable.
Anyway, to answer your questions in order... 1. Spring 25th is the first day you have the ability to store your branches, rocks, and other supply materials. Since you're already there, all you have to do is buy the blueprint for the Supply Shed from Rebecca and build it. 2. Yes, you have to build a chicken coop. Rebecca also sells the plans for this. 3. The Harvest Goddess will appear for the first time on Spring 27th, and she'll give you a tutorial on using multiplayer and wifi. You won't have access to wifi until then. There isn't really a completed guide, unfortunately. I don't even think there's a physical guidebook out in English yet. That said, if you look through this topic you'll find a few things you're gonna need right off the bat, and you can always ask me or someone else who's gotten decently far. Really, whether you "mess up" or not depends entirely on how fast you want to complete the plot. If you want to complete it at lightning speed, you're going to need to hoard pretty much everything except for bugs, fish, and your crops/produce. Probably the most important things to hoard at the early part of the game are Small Branches. You're going to need at least 100 of them. Plan 1 requires 15 of them, Plan 2 requires 50 of them, and Plan 3 requires 30 of them. Other, non-essential blueprints use them too, but I always figure that those can wait. You're also going to need Honeycomb before Summer starts. It takes 5 pieces of honeycomb to build one beehive and you have to ship 10 bottles of honey to complete the second plan. Honeycomb is only available as a foraging item in Spring and Fall, so if you don't have any saved, you're going to have to wait until Fall to complete that requirement. (Not a problem if you want to go at a more leisurely pace. :)) One other thing you might want to remember that I couldn't find anywhere until I'd already kinda screwed up, is that you're going to need to feed your animals 7 regular treats and 24 animal-specific treats to raise productivity by one level. You can get your animals to produce up to 5 items a day this way. Since I didn't know this going in, I kinda just have to go by one or the other (usually regular treats since you need fewer of them) and once I've given them the proper number of that, if it hasn't raised a level, I just start giving it the other type of treat until it does. Not the most efficient means, but it still works. EDIT: Oh yeah, and a note on my own farm... You can only propose marriage on Saturdays or Sundays. What kind of shit is that? I wanted to get married on Tuesday, damn it! |
