I've never played Rune Factory, but I'd like to. I'm more interested in the console versions. Between Frontier and Tides of Destiny, which is the better game? Please explain your reasoning. Thanks!

I ordered frontier because it seems the most like harvest moon (Tide of Destiny kind of seems like its own thing). Unfortunately, my wii, which is a launch day wii, has decided it is a moral sin to read dual layer discs (Brawl, Metroid Other M, Metroid Prime Trilogy, etc) and I am shipping to Nintendo tomorrow for a free repair. It will be back in about a week though. Still, the wait to try Frontier will be torture. I will likely reads the manual 100 times. Perhaps that is a good thing if it properly explains runeys.

Oh boy I am surprised I never got that issue I got a 1st generation Wii as well it has always been good to me however in disc reading aspects.

Oh yes Runeys ah ha I remember them well Sometimes they are almost autonomous and you don't have to manage them sometimes they just seem to radically shift requiring you to intervene almost daily if not more than once a week. I personally just made sure no place was in the Red zone kind of. And Yes Frontier is far more in touch with its harvest moon farming roots. Such as tool upgrades, mining rocks for ore, farm plots, clearing obstacles, Choosing what you want to grow, Also you got your whole kitchen thing with the addition of pharmacy for medicine, and crafting and forging for equipment.

Seriously tides of destiny went all action adventure I did love the game but all you do in farming is plant a sprout and let the monsters which choose what to plant and take care of it. They usually never planted what you want causing you to have excess crops but you can always sell them. Your tools for farming where a wand for sprout planting, a hammer for mining, and a brush for caring for and recruiting monsters which do all the work on islands themed after each season. However the game did add sea exploration which was fun and giant golem battle which was fun when you get good at it.
