*freakout mode* I am going to be in hog heaven come the release. So first of all, to be adressed, this is to take place 70 years after the finale of the firs series. Aang has died and passed on the duty of Avatar to this young, supposedly rebellious waterbender named Korra (who may or may not be a descendant of Sokka so as to avoid being coupled with the only living airbender who is the child of Aang and Katara) According to the Wiki she's already mastered three of the elements, and only needs to learn Airbending now. There's some kind of rebellion with Anti-bending (the thing Aang did to firelord Ozai to seal his firebending. Apparantly anyone, even non benders, can anti-bend) And she has to stop it. That is the extent of my knowledge. for information about the series which I don't feel like explaining in full detail right here, see the wiki |

Well, I would think it slightly makes sense, since in real life, everybody keeps telling me I sound like my mom, my friends sound like their parents, my brother is starting to sound like my dad, etc. So in my head it only makes sense that new Iroh (it's confusing to just call him Iroh without thinking of Zuko's uncle) sounds like Zuko.
Either that, or I'm just too much of a nostalgic voice fangirl. Maybe it's just one of those things that has to grow on you... And I'd say it's a lot easier to get used to a new character having an older character's voice, than an older character being reintroduced with a completely different voice without having aged. |
