*freakout mode* I am going to be in hog heaven come the release. So first of all, to be adressed, this is to take place 70 years after the finale of the firs series. Aang has died and passed on the duty of Avatar to this young, supposedly rebellious waterbender named Korra (who may or may not be a descendant of Sokka so as to avoid being coupled with the only living airbender who is the child of Aang and Katara) According to the Wiki she's already mastered three of the elements, and only needs to learn Airbending now. There's some kind of rebellion with Anti-bending (the thing Aang did to firelord Ozai to seal his firebending. Apparantly anyone, even non benders, can anti-bend) And she has to stop it. That is the extent of my knowledge. for information about the series which I don't feel like explaining in full detail right here, see the wiki |

I must be the only one that feels this way, but Korra is proving to be very lackluster. D:
There's still the issue of terrible voice acting that remains... Korra's voice actress IS getting a little better as we go, so we'll see, but yeah. The halfhearted acting gets to me sometimes. I find that Korra's VA does especially bad in scenes that are really tense and serious-- she kind of makes the scenarios seem less significant than they are, due to her lack of expression. Arg. Really disappointing performances from her. As for the episodes, themselves... I feel like they could have been pieced together better. I find that this season, the scenes kind of jump around. It really does feel like a collage of different pieces of a single script that is just put together in random order. The placement of certain segments of episodes seem very strange where they are and they just kind of... suddenly come and suddenly go? I find it a little off-putting that I can't enjoy any one part of the episode that they're trying to flesh out because before they do, another is introduced without rhyme or reason. In this way, season one was much better. It was your classic "Hey, we're going to start a scene, people are going to walk from here to there, they're going to say this and that, and THEN we'll change the scene when they're done." Where as Korra's just... "This guy will come in, say something, then before he's even done we'll put in some random scene just to get the audience confused! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/emot-iia.png) " Also, unlike probably everyone, I'm a little confused about Korra and Mako, and I'm not sure I like them. Korra isn't as strong of a protagonist as Aang was, and she's much less relatable, in my opinion. I appreciate that they made her stubborn and headstrong and rash, but aside from that, it's hard to pick anything out that I like, as she has no other traits. She isn't multi-faceted like Aang was. Mako too... just... I feel like the creators almost don't know how they want his personality to be like. He appears to be the kind of... brooding character, in the first episode. But then this latest episode, he's so cheery and awkward and weird. And he has that touch of emo, too. I don't know. I just don't relate much to him, either. I'm sure my opinions on them will probably change, as they grow and develop, but just so far, I'm very unimpressed. Hahahah. I don't know. Probably The Last Airbender's just had such an impact on me that I'm comparing too much. And maybe the differences are too vast for me to like LoK. :9 It isn't without its perks, I guess. I'm finding that certain characters are extremely likeable. Tenzin's my favourite. I don't even know. He's just so great (?). Others are really pleasant too. Like... Meelo (obviously), Bolin, and Ikki. THE ANIMATION IS JUST AMAZING TOO. Bending just looks so fantastic. <3 Okay I wrote an essay of complaint and endless whining. I should just stop.
