I like animal parade, so so with tree of tranquility, currently playing through magical melody and loving that, and have started a file with back to nature, though MM is keeping my time spent right now, but I do like what I've seen. also, innocent life is right up there with my favorites.

as for ones I DON'T like:

original HM (reason being, it ends, and the time goes TOO fast.)
all wonderful life games (farming feels off, and seriously, killing seeds you walk on? not 4 me.)
HM64 (the "endless" mode doesn't let you farm! what's the point?!)
rune factory (rather not go there. it's just not my taste. don't bother mentioning them.)
save the homeland (new game+ is only ok if it's optional. not required.)

so now you generaly know my likes and dislikes. based on that, what harvest moon games on DS would I like? also, what GB harvest moons would you recomend, should they come to the 3DS virtual console? I played the first one, and I liked it pretty good, but if there was an end, I never saw it.

When talking about HM64, what do you mean "endless mode"? Are you referring to the fact that you can play the game as long as you like even after completing the story?

You may have told us what you don't like, but that actually doesn't help much in recommending games, since most of the games on the DS involve things you've mentioned that you don't want.

The Harvest Moon DS games (excluding Rune Factory & puzzle games) are as follows:

Harvest Moon DS (Boy Only)
Harvest Moon DS Cute (Girl Only)
Harvest Moon Island of Happiness
Harvest Moon Sunshine Islands
Harvest Moon Grand Bazaar
Harvest Moon Twin Villages (Soon to be released in the US as "A Tale of Two Towns".)

DS and DS Cute have a combination of the cast from AWL and HM64/BTN. If you didn't like the characters in those two games, you probably won't like these two games either.

Island of Happiness and Sunshine Islands take place in a new village with a new cast, though many people often have problems with the game and say it's boring. Look it up if you want as I don't know enough about it to tell you anything.

Grand Bazaar also takes place in a new town with a new cast, but it differs from many of the newer games as there's no real goal in the game other than to farm and build up the bazaar. The bazaar itself is quite fun, but if you're looking for a game with some sort of goal you have to focus on, this is not for you.

Twin Villages has two small villages that you can choose between to live in, and it does have a plot/goal, though it's really silly. You have to win cooking contests over the course of the game to build friendship between the two villages and dig out the tunnel separating them. However, depending on which village you live in, you're limited in how many crops you can plant or animals you can own.

As for gameboy Harvest Moon games... GBC 2 and 3 are both great. I have no idea if they'll be up your alley, though.

guess I should have been more specific. I only want HM games that let you farm "forever". as for why I don't like wonderful life, the characters were fine (especialy nami... wanted her in MM until I read you can't) but I didn't like the complexity of the game, and to me, the character controls were off, and killing seeds by walking/running over them, combined with the off controlls, I just didn't like it. also, I want to farm endlessly, so I figured I'd go with the PS2 version, since it doesn't end. problem is, I can't stand the framerate drop that occurs so frequently. that, and with time running even when in doors... just everything combined, no thanks.

and yes, that mode in HM64 doesn't allow you to keep farming if I recall, so really, what's the point? besides, I don't have a 64 anymore, don't intend to get one soon, and with nintendo $%^&*ing arround with the virtual console service as a whole, let alone the 64, I don't see it coming out any time soon.

but yeah, I don't mind what kinds of characters there are at all.

and so you know, I just bought grand bazaar. haven't played it yet, but we'll see. I read that it doesn't end. so far, sounds good.

oh yeah, are the first two you mentiond (HM DS for boys, and for girls) different enough to warrant buying both? I don't "mind" playing as a girl, but if they're basicly identical, I don't see any point.
