Alright, this is a pretty general topic. But whatever. Tell me what genre you like to read, what you've read in the past and liked, school reading, and here's one I've been curious about... How do you treat your books?
Do you hoard books on your bookshelves? When you pause at a place in a book, do you lay it flat open against the table, or do you bookmark it? Do you dog ear your books? Is wear and tear in a book a sign of love, or a sign that someone should take better care of their books? And, just for Crystal: Ebooks vs. real books AND discuss audio books here as well. Maybe you can convert a few, Crystal. ;D |

Crystal has gotten to me with her audiobooks. But audiobooks are awesome! I enjoy the voice acting and it is very much like your book has come to life, yet the imaginative part of reading a book isn't gone. It's like a movie talking word-for-word from the book, but with your own images.
I just started reading a series, too. I feel embarrassed being an English minor and hardly ever reading for fun (but I LOVE to read, just don't know what or don't motivate myself to make time). The book is A Song of Ice and Fire: A Game of Thrones. I'm sure some of you guys have heard of it or even read it yourselves (it came out in like 1995, but the most recent entry was released this July). The book is pretty darn good so far. I'm hoping for good things. I love fantasy/sci-fi books. |
