*freakout mode* I am going to be in hog heaven come the release. So first of all, to be adressed, this is to take place 70 years after the finale of the firs series. Aang has died and passed on the duty of Avatar to this young, supposedly rebellious waterbender named Korra (who may or may not be a descendant of Sokka so as to avoid being coupled with the only living airbender who is the child of Aang and Katara) According to the Wiki she's already mastered three of the elements, and only needs to learn Airbending now. There's some kind of rebellion with Anti-bending (the thing Aang did to firelord Ozai to seal his firebending. Apparantly anyone, even non benders, can anti-bend) And she has to stop it. That is the extent of my knowledge. for information about the series which I don't feel like explaining in full detail right here, see the wiki |

According to the Wiki, it seems to be an isolated event. Republic City seems to be the only place mentioned with that kind of growth. Next to that, the most industrialized places are in the Fire Nation, the the Earth Kingdom, then the Water Tribes, then the Air Nomads.
Also, it could've started out as a fire nation place *note fire bender policeman in video*. They were pretty darn advanced to begin with. So 70 years after that could possibly have that effect. The fact that they'd just had a war and were then in peace for a decent amount of time could've helped. |
