I once had a following fantasy: the future where a ship is sent to colonize other worlds. The ship eventually crashes on a remote planet, but thankfully it's Earth-type enough to survive. You use the ship remains to build a house and start exploring the land, trying to cultivate it, taming strange creatures and maybe even making contact with inhabitants of the planet. Just make sure the protagonist has some basic lodging and facilities from the start (lest it should become like too much like Lost in Blue) and at the same time does not have too many robot helpers (lest it should become too much like Innocent Life). I think such an experience (even as another spin-off) would be refreshing and interesting.
