I'm not sure what course I will be TA'ing yet, or even what I'll be doing. I could be teaching tutorials, holding office hours, or marking assignments. I don't care what I have to do as long as it doesn't get too much in the way of the rest of my work.
What do you mean by research? I am doing Directed Studies which is similar to research, I suppose, but it counts as a credit. As for classes, I thought I had very few too, but I think it might be how the Master's program works. Coincidentally, only Software Agents is actually a graduate course as I have to take three undergraduate courses to transition to a Computer Science degree (previously Information Technology). My next semester will have four courses (one being Directed Studies whose work had been started now). I will then have a single summer course (Directed Studies) before I begin my thesis. My schedule currently consists of a three-day weekend (Friday - Sunday) with four days of classes every morning. Mondays and Wednesdays will have lengthy gaps between morning and evening classes. I am hopeful I can use the gaps on Monday and Wednesday to do a part-time job, but will have to see. Do you just stay on campus during such gaps? I've always lived close to campus, so I've never had issues. |

You kinda answered this by saying that you start your thesis next year, but it also meant if you were assisting professors with any work outside of teaching. QUOTE Do you just stay on campus during such gaps? I've always lived close to campus, so I've never had issues. I usually work on problems, or read my textbook in the study room. If it's nice out I enjoy going for a walk in the park across the canal. If I'm tired and I have time, I head home for a brief nap and/or snack.I'm thinking about going to the gym for an hour each day, to help break up the studies (and regain my health). |
