I must second the latkes and hummus with pita chips! I also enjoy yakisoba and onigiri, as well as a bunch of curries. Italian pasta is wonderful too! Pfft! I'm not picky about what I eat as long as it's vegetarian, and I love so many foods from different cultures! (And while I'm thinking of it, gnocchi's pretty excellent too!)
As for food from my own culture, when I used to eat it I always loved niku. I often consider going back on my whole eight and a half years of vegetarianism just to eat the stuff again. Unfortunately, now I don't know anyone who makes it anymore since Grandpa died. Apparently Grandma does sometimes, but it's never quite dry enough. (For the record, I should probably mention that 'niku' is dried caribou meat. Excellent stuff, it is!) Smoked salmon and redberry tea is also quite nice. |
