Well, I'm no expert spriter or anything, but it's kind of fun (yet tedious... go figure). I know a lot of people have attempted to make their own HM games with little luck. I'm only really able to program stuff like a cooking system, advanced social system, calendar, mining system... but the actual farming has me stuck. Oh well. :P At least I can make graphics, too. If I ever get around to making a full working test bed I might want to make a fan game with original characters (not ToT/AP chars, I just used them for testing purposes) and stuff like that. :D Maybe... someday.

But I made all this in about 6 hours, which isn't too bad :D |

[massive necropost.. heheh..]
Actually, I still am (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lalaexdee.gif) ;; When I put a lot of time and thought into something it's hard for me to give it up. However, I did take a break from it for quite a while since I got a new computer, and I just booted up and transferred some of the files *last week*... I started running the game on debug mode to figure out what I've got, and I forgot what I was doing with it, basically. Like when you load a really old save file from a game and can't remember what side quests still need to be completed and stuff. I don't know how it'll turn out in the end, because I've been changing a lot of things (trying to cleverly figure out how to deviate from the HM norm, so it's not just a clone (ie. my programming skills SUCK)), but I'm still plugging along. Mostly working on characters, and trying to refine the cast. At least they are pretty developed now. I may scrap the 2D sprites in favor of 3D sprites, for the sake of convenience (instead of having to draw 50 sprites of the same character at different angles, 3D is all a matter of building a base model and rigging animations). I'm actually busy building models right now. But I dunno, I'm still trying to figure things out. |
