Not sure if there's a topic on reading already, but I'll make the assumption that there isn't.
How often do you read? What was the last book you read? Any great suggestions? I've gotten into reading recently which is quite new to me. I used to really hate it because no books really interested me. I found most of what was around was fantasy which I simply did not care for. However, I've always been into writing and felt it was a necessity that I start reading - if not just to pick up on new skills. So I decided to pick up The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy which I had purchased about two years ago and never finished. For the past three days I've done at least an hour of reading every night, and have just finished reading the book. Quite an accomplishment for me so now I'm on a bit of a high. I intend to read the read the next book in the series, The Restaurant at the End of the Universe. I will likely go pick it up the next time I visit Chapters. Your turn. Go! |

I should get on to reading more often. I used to read all the time in school. I have books all throughout the house that I can pick and read at any given time; however I am never given the peace and time I need to get my read on. The last book I finished was Fantasy: A Collection It contained many short stories that I thoroughly enjoyed.
I love collections or anthologies. I am not sure what the correct term is however I like them because it gives me a hodgepodge of different Authors that all have different writing styles there for I am seeing different stories come to life in new ways I would have never imagined. Reading is a wonderful thankfully I was blessed with perfect eyesight at the loss of some ability to hear words. So with all of that said I like to read I need to get on reading more often. Even if it means leaving the house maybe walking to the park and sitting on the bench for a spell. Oh my goodness it just struck me that I have to full boxes of books I have yet to read and the Fourth of July Book Sale is on the way! I must make room so that I can have three boxes of new books. By the way my favorite genres are: fiction, sci-fi, adventure, mystery, and horror. |
