One of the worst-received Harvest Moon games is the first one they made for the DS; HM:DS or Sprite Station.
It was the first HM game I ever played (or DS game, for that matter). While I thougt there were several excellent aspects to atmosphere and gameplay, there are quite clearly a lot of points that needed serious improvement, including a ridiculous number of glitches and ridiculously hard, time consuming goals with no benefits and no kind of multiplayer "leader board" or achievements system. The point is, would you be prepared to play a remake of Harvest Moon DS if the many faults were corrected, and perhaps new features were added? What would merit buying/downloading (3DS and existing DSi features could mean downloadable updates/expansions for games) and playing a remade version? I thought it would have been a really great game if only there wasn't so much missing or broken with it. And since a lot of new Harvest Moon games don't seem so great or innovative to me, if they made a proper, gold version of HMDS (with Cute combined) and some lacking features I'd like to see, I'd probably buy it. The only way this seems likely to be possible is if Marvelous wanted to make it for the 3DS. Discuss stuff like what you'd like to see and what you'd need for you to buy it, vote in poll, etc. |

I know, the levels thing was crazy. It didn't really amount to anything that your crops were level 24, because there was nothing to spend the excess money on. And there were all those Farm Titles you could win with your Farm Points, which took literally years to accumulate to anything almost significant. The mine system was crazy, with repetitive level after repetitive level filled with annoying creatures and no variation, and accessory or cursed tool treasures that were nearly impossible to find.
Hurricanes also wiped out buildings very easily, making buying cheap buildings made of wood completely pointless, and a barn with animals falling down would completely wreck all social progress, with no kind of damage and repair system that could have been implemented. |
