Part-Time/Summer Employment Options

I feel a tad desperate posting this topic, but I'm hopeful some advice might be found.

For the past year I have taken a financially-difficult path in order to obtain relevant work experience. I have worked as an intern for nearly seven months and as a Teacher's Assistant for two semesters. Prior to that I had been looking for work, even a part-time job, with no success; though, I did have a few interviews with game companies. As it stands now, I have finished my Teacher's Assistant contract and am without a source of income. I am looking for a part- or full-time job to last me from May until September.

Thus far I have had no response. While this is only my third week of searching, I can't help being stressed due to my current financial situation. Padding my resume forced me to go with next to no income for a year. Quite simply, I need some sort of employment this month lest I run into serious problems.

Would anyone happen to have any advice for my situation? Is anyone having or has had a similar circumstance?

I was a Research Assistant for my university during one summer and then throughout the following school year. I was offered a chance to come back, but the same funding was no longer available as I had graduated. I quite enjoyed the work, though I regret not getting more out of it. The money paid well all things considered.
