I feel a tad desperate posting this topic, but I'm hopeful some advice might be found.
For the past year I have taken a financially-difficult path in order to obtain relevant work experience. I have worked as an intern for nearly seven months and as a Teacher's Assistant for two semesters. Prior to that I had been looking for work, even a part-time job, with no success; though, I did have a few interviews with game companies. As it stands now, I have finished my Teacher's Assistant contract and am without a source of income. I am looking for a part- or full-time job to last me from May until September. Thus far I have had no response. While this is only my third week of searching, I can't help being stressed due to my current financial situation. Padding my resume forced me to go with next to no income for a year. Quite simply, I need some sort of employment this month lest I run into serious problems. Would anyone happen to have any advice for my situation? Is anyone having or has had a similar circumstance? |

There's not much advice to really give, I think a lot of people are in your situation, unfortunatley.
If you're just looking for any job to help you through the summer, I suggest trying at a grocery store or a big department store since they're usually hiring people all the time. Or if you're really desperate, maybe a McDonalds or Burger King, since they usually have teenagers that will quit after a week, they're always hiring. I haven't gone through trying to find a job since I've only ever worked for one summer and that was thanks to my dad. I'll be working there again this summer {even though I reeeeeaaallly don't want to}, I'll be without my old b-tch manager, so that's great. What do your parents do? Maybe they know of a job you could do, if that's possible. I really hope you find something soon but there are soooo many other people doing the same thing you are. :( |
