Fifth Generation Of Pokemon? Options

According to PokeBeach.com there's significant reason to now believe that there is a new collection of Pokemon to be announced soon :D Perhaps come the next movie we'll be seeing some new ones. They just love to keep making more, don't they?

I too thought that Generation 3 was the worst of the batch. Altaria was the only nicely designed pokemon from the generation and it pretty much sucked. Anyone who's a shoddy battler, or a wi-fi battler will tell you that one of the greatest things to come out of generation 3 was Salamence - a pokemon I hate and will never put in my party. Aside from that? Nothing - except for those horrifying travesties called "pokemon contests". I cannot tell you how much I wish contests had never been invented. I want to catch and train pokemon - not dress them up and make them dance. (unless the silly dancing was only in gen 4... It's been so long since I played gen 3, I can't remember.)

I'm almost ashamed to admit that I loved the 4th gen games - not for the new pokemon, but because it was a lot more fun than gen 3 could've ever dreamed of being.

And, as for a fifth generation... I have no doubt in my mind that they will. I think they'll probably wait for the next Nintendo hand-held console though. Red/Blue/Green/Yellow were all on regular gameboy, Gold/Silver/Crystal were on gameboy color (though only crystal was exclusive), Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald + 1st Gen remakes were on Gameboy advanced, and Diamond/Pearl/Platinum + 2nd gen remakes are on the DS - it wouldn't make sense for a fifth generation to come out as long as the DS still reigns.

I do hope they'll come up with some decent pokemon designs for it - there are so many cool things out there in the world they can design off of, it just wouldn't make sense for them to come up with the same uninspired caricatures they brought in these last two generations...
