Wii + HD = ... Options

I just got an HDTV and I plugged my Wii into the TV, all ready to play, but I was a bit mad that the picture quality is sort of jagged. Like not as crisp and clear, I guess?

I heard there's a component cable for the Wii by Nintendo and was wondering if anybody has it?

As mentioned, the component cables will allow for 480p output. You have to enable it in the Wii system menu. That's the best you'll do with Wii.

Different people at Nintendo have said that the next console they'll release will be HD. However it won't be a "WiiHD" as all the analysts are making up. Nintendo's stance is that there needs to be a more significant development in what they can do with a game console before they'll release a new one.

Those aren't new systems. Those are revisions. They play the exact same games, with the exception of a few specialized ones.

So, I figured out what was wrong with my Wii. When I put my Wii back in my room, I forgot to change the settings back to 4:3. xDDD That explains so much.

Why do you think its dumb? I think it's nice that they stick with the current format, while releasing revisions that might attract new customers. I wouldn't like it if they just dropped the DS line altogether in favour of a new system, at least while I find it premature.
