The weather's getting colder now, and for some it's even snowing. So, what changes to your attire will you be making this season? What winter wear are you looking forward to pulling out and using again? How will your outfit change throughout the season?
As with last winter I will be wearing a long black pea coat and black boots. It took me a long while to find exactly what I wanted last year. Combined I spent about $300 on the set, and I'm quite proud of my purchase. It goes well with a lot of what I already have now and it certainly looks nicer than a regular winter jacket and toque. At the moment I need to go out and find a black headband, since I recently lost mine. But yeah, I quite love what I wear in the winter and have been looking forward to this season for a while now. Also, does anyone find it weird for a male to be wearing a headband? I never thought anything odd of it. I certainly can't look fashionable with a toque. A headband does the job of covering my ears while still showing my hair. Yet, some people seem to find headband feminine in a way which seeems very strange to me. As well, it seems near impossible to actually find a plain black headband all of a sudden. What's up with that? I'll see about getting a picture shortly. The ones I have from Ubisoft came out really bad. |

Hm... well, "winter" here isn't exactly the "winter" people up north experience, though it does get plenty cold. Despite our warm summers (I often get told it's not warm, but rather "freaky hot"... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lalaexdee.gif) ), and our reputation for having warm weather most of the year, Texas has pretty nasty winters. We may not get several feet of snow, or even snow at all, but we get extreme chill, freezing rain, and icy sleet in its place. That tends to lead to a rather nasty combo that's hard to dress for - common winter coats are just too big and bulky, and fleece jackets and the like aren't enough to keep you warm. Personally, I just wear a couple of long-sleeved shirts over long-johns and wear a hoodie over it all. I tend to favor my knee-high boots during winter as well - they're nice and cozy. Aside from that, I don't really use much... maybe put on a pair of gloves if I know I'm going to be outside for a while... but that's it.
And, um... when you say "headband" just what are you talking about, anyway? I've never heard of one being used as winterwear... :S |
