Post your time trials from Mario Kart Wii! Include your character and vehicle too if you'd like.
Personally I started doing time trials again and have improved quite a lot over my rankings from a few months ago. I tend to use my Mii and the Mach Bike, though some courses call for certain setups. Bold times indicate that I beat an expert staff ghost. An asterisk * indicates I am within one second of beating an expert staff ghost. Luigi Circuit = 1:19.373 Moo Moo Meadows = 1:24.965 Mushroom Gorge = 1:59.020 Toad's Factory = 2:05.274 Mario Circuit = 1:31.151 Coconut Mall = 2:12.530 DK Summit = 2:15.835 Wario's Gold Mine = 2:09.281 Daisy Circuit = 1:41.267 Koopa Cape = 2:41.164 Maple Treeway = 2:37.484 Grumble Volcano = 2:12.915 Dry Dry Ruins = 2:12.154 Moonview Highway = 1:57.850 (probably my favourite course) Bowser's Castle = 2:48.951 Rainbow Road = 2:52.494 GCN Peach Beach = 1:22.338 DS Yoshi Falls = 1:07.069 SNES Ghost Valley 2 = 0:58.749 N64 Mario Raceway = 1:55.205 N64 Sherbet Island = 2:27.000 (I save my mushrooms in case I hit a penguin) GBA Shy Guy Beach = 1:31.174 (the trick is to drive almost entirely in the water) DS Delfino Square = 2:19.080 GCN Waluigi Stadium = 2:11.330 DS Desert Hills = 1:50.835 GBA Bowser Castle 3 = 2:35.679 N64 DK's Jungle Parkway = 2:36.162 GCN Mario Circuit = 1:48.588 SNES Mario Circuit 3 = 1:26.617 DS Peach Gardens = 2:16.639 GCN DK Mountain = 2:36.339 N64 Bowser's Castle = 2:54.919 Post your times! I want to know how I rank with others on the forum. |

Yup, I've noticed you can save a lot of time by greatly reducing your air. You can angle your bike as well by pressing up or down though I'm still not entirely sure if I'm making a significant difference. After the Wiggler part of Maple Treeway with the half-pipe, I just try to make as sharp a turn as possible which ends up costing me a wheelie.
Another case is DK Summit where you're going down the hill through all the bumps and some ramps. I find it better to avoid the ramps altogether and get a lot of tricks on the bumps. You greatly reduce your air time and can get a lot of speed coming out of the hill into the turn. I would love to know how you're beating me though. As for GBA Shy Guy Beach you really need an off-road bike. A small character helps a lot too. You want to drive almost entirely in the water so as to cut back on a great deal of time and distance traveled. That course took me a long time to do successfully though. |
