A few days late, but I thought I'd point out that Massachusetts senator Ted Kennedy died on Tuesday from brain cancer. He was, as they go, a neat politician and he did a lot of good.

I'm surprised this thread was even made, and that anybody here knew who he was (he's JFK's little brother).
Anyway he lived 20 minutes away from me and I've met him a couple times, when he was healthier you could sometimes find him sailing around. Wicked nice guy, he'd remember anyone and everyone, and he literally worked to the death fighting for what he believed in, which most of all was universal health care. My only guff with him was how he didn't want turbines installed in Nantucket Sound. Also like two weeks ago his sister died. She was the woman who set up the Special Olympics. |
