I'm just wondering, is the part-time feature still here in EAM? I'm assuming it is from ToT but I haven't seen any mention of it so I thought I should ask. :] Thanks!

Also, any information on the differences between EAM and ToT would be very helpful! If there was anything in ToT that is gone in EAM that you know about, please let me know. :]

Nope, part time jobs are gone.

As far as differences go...

-Completely new location (aside from a remodeled Toucan Island)
-Different story (similar premise, but aside from that it's all new events, and it's bells instead of rainbows this time. The creators tried to include all of the characters in the story events one way or another)
-Updated family system (extra family/spouse events, have 2 kids, festivals change after marriage and children, your entire family can help out on the farm)
-All of the ToT marriage candidates have rivals now (meaning new special marriage candidates and more rival kids)
-New crops (coffee beans, tea leaves, sugar cane)
-The mining system has changed. I think it's a lot more difficult now because stones don't sparkle (so you have no clue what you found), and you have to pay to have them inspected, so it's pretty much a gamble. The camera and lighting in the mines has improved a lot though. Oh, and there are a few different places to mine, as well, that yield different kinds of stones.

-Shorter loading times (probably because the maps are built/programmed differently, they seem to load as you move around instead of transferring to a totally new map. There are spots you can walk on that trigger loading screens.)
-Maps are huuuuuuuuge, by the way.
-Different game controls. Fin follows you around as a walking handbook, pretty much.
-More detailed meshes and textures (though Roomi got taller and Ose got shorter... I don't know if it's because it makes swapping 3D models for heart events and things like that easier or what, but it's a change). All of the animals have been remodeled in a more cartoony style.
-Time stops indoors (and the clock in general is slower)
-Animal interaction is much faster
-You're limited to having 3 kinds of animals in your barn, which kinda sucks but may add a challenge depending how you look at it.

...

There are actually so many differences that I don't even know if I can list all of them. I went through most of the differences in my EAM topic, and the various speculation and website update topics (info that came out before the game was released), but it's well over 100 pages now, so I bet it's a mess to search through.

Basically, don't expect it to be like a "ToT: Special Edition". It's more like the leap from 64 to BtN, though with less personality overhauls.
